So recently I have been play tournaments that have had low buy-ins. for example, $4000 GTD for like 5.50 or $3000 GTD for 3.85. But the problem im running into is that it feels like a FR. I mean i think i saw more AI in 4K GTD last night than i ever have in a FR. I mean by the first break there were more Rebuys then buy ins . So i guess my question to all of you is, at what amount of buy in does a Tourney feel more like real poker and not this bingo allusion? Like $25, $50 Or maybe $100?

i dont think what your experiencing is a problem, its the solution

you want bad players, dont think its ever better to play players with a higher skill level(except to learn)

the best players in the world are good at playing pros and fish

Observe the table dynamic and try to take advantage of the donk situation.

From what I have seen the higher BI is not indicative to better play. You will find what you described in all those ranges, not as much in the higher ones. Look for opportunities, you have more with ones you are playing.

I hate getting "fished" (as I call it). but every time some fishtard limps utg then calls my button raise with Q5 or 34 and beats me, I just try to appreciate that eventually I will get the better of these fish. Therefore, it's a good thing they make fishtard moves. However, I find that even at the $60 buy in your going to find alot of hyper aggressive play in MTT's. And there not usually fish at that level.

Long MTT are hard to play anyway. Takes a lot of patience to wait for your winning hands and figure out the players at your table. That's why I like FF because the registered players is low, there is no late registeration, and most of the time the players play like they got some sense. Hope things turn around for you.

It all depends on what your bank roll is.

1/20th of your BR. BRM is the key. If you can not afford to lose do not play. Scared money does not win.

I completely get what u r saying but i just seem to have the short end of the stick on most cases. Like i know these kids are Ace-rag with a hard on most times but when i see Ks in my hand and the guy before me AI i cant seem to lay it down. Then as always A-rag hits and my Ks are crushed. I feel like that bit of luck in poker u need i just dont have lol

Yea man definitely good advice. Only problem is the bad beats seem to be long term as well lol. But i get it and i rarely am mad at my calls and plays. I usually feel i make the right calls and get beaten by a better play or sucked out. thats poker right? lol thanks for the advice tho
