Hello, during long time I want type this topic. Now, when I pass through a lots of final tables, cash places and troubles I can share my thought about success components.

Component 1. Stamina, hardiness, the ability to outstay opponent.
No one can't win if in his mind fly thought about quick win. Make concentration to long game, to waiting good enough hand. Play level by level with adjustments of strategy.

Component 2. Emotion control, be strong to provocations, better off chat.
How often you became anger when fish or aggressive opponents used foul language? Very often. Players with big experience can adapt, but beginners more often break out of the rut.

Component 3. Carefully cards selected to make all-in. Be sure you strong enough. Count all risks. Is opponent tight or loose, check it!

Component 4. Don't think about your cards, think what possible can have your opponent. Don't trust ever big bet, in the other hand, bet can indicate strong combination. bluff? Possible. Be sure in opponent. Onlooking him.

Component 5. Final table can last for a long time. From 9th for 1st places table can last near 1-2 hours. Accept it into consideration.

Yes, it is unconditional, the patience plays very important role in tournament poker. But still it is necessary for to put the range of the starting hands.:закатывать глаза:

I think it is out of words. Discipline is not right in this case.
I sure assiduity would be better. Ones you can wait nice card to double up, next you can bit several fishes.

you need to immediately try to save the Bank, then play cautiously

OH my GOD!!!! THIS IS ridiculous advice!!!
I need to double up not save my stack. And word BANK did not use in this case. Bank - are the chips what players put on the board making bets. Stack - are the chips what player had.

Why users who want wind the number of posts НАКРУТИТЬ (специально для русских) use serious threads?
Write something in the thread about ALCOHOL or in thread about 5 min Break
And for notice: when I was starter in CardsChat, I wrote posts about skill advantage in poker or make the questions when something is not clear...
Try this way better please.

And still need to be very careful, and to gather information as much as possible with the player to assess his range of playable hands, and know when you can steal against him, or do a max raise which his call, or bluff.

Huge true!! Information make you the table king. Once you can push, you can change oponnetns vision about you. In MTT it is very important when table don't change for a long time.

I agree with you and some other members.
- Emotion control
- patience
- knowing your opponents,
- bluff sometimes to confuse other players
but at the microlimits the main factor is to be lucky, otherwise you will find some crazy fish dude shoving with fours and you will loose for him with your pocket Aces after 2 hours playing your A game.

Good tips IMO. However you do need to play quite a few tourneys to beat fields of thousands of players. Volume is also key.

Thank you very much, BogdanStark. Good information. Especially point 4 is a problem for me because I just see I hold a flush for example but don´t see the pair on the table and the opponent bets a lot. He must see that I could hold a flush but bets. That have to be a alarm signal for me that he could hold a full house but I am blind for it and bet all in too and loose :-(.

First of all, luck. Also patience, you have to wait for his moment, and he will come. The main thing to use it, as well as to take advantage of situations at the table.

Very disagree about {first of all LUCK}
If you think so, you really can't play profitable. Luck is nothing versus second or third barrel (if you know what is it).
You must make opponent believe you have strong combination. Cause of who opponents are, you can calculate your chance for barrel success. Luck can't help you indeed.

Short stack

Ok so whats your advice on starting short stack? I play a lot of online freerolls but often have to start late, or I go to freerolls where you can buy beer or somesuch to chip up and I cant afford to chip up like everybody else. When you're starting from behind but the blinds are still low whats the best way to proceed? And how should you handle it when you come in late and the blinds are high?
