Thank you for posting.

Read my title to this post memorize it and let it be your guiding light:D

Learning hand ranges will help you.

1 Villains do not limp KK QQ JJ on the btn first in. Min raise is common.
2 Villains do not limp AK AQ first in on btn min raise again.
3 Villains do not call 3 streets on A high boards with 1010 99 88 77 66 after a raise from the blinds if they know how to play poker.
4 Villains do limp call 22 33 44 55 45 56 A2 A3 A4 A5 AJ and would go 3 streets with those hands.

Yes we are winning vs some hands but do we really want to play for stacks under these circumstances. We have to recognize when we need to protect our stacks in a tournament vs when we want to get full value.

Your bet sizing should be to get value when ahead but not lose to much when behind.
If you use your math stats villain has 30% equity on flop if you bet 100 villain makes a mistake by calling.
On turn pot 340 vill equity 16%- 220 bet a call is a mistake again.

River board A35J4
Remember we are not just playing vs Ax villain can have all sets and rivered straights and missed flush draws.

Your turn pot 1260 -620 of your chips. This turn pot is 760 -370 hero chips.

Your bet 630 on river into that board. Villains stack 2470- pot after your bet 1890 after the call 2420. Your risk 1250

This half pot bet would be 380 for a total of 750 chips risked to win 1520

Do we get more river calls from losing hands at 380 vs 630? So is it possible we would risk 1250 to win 1890 vs risking 750 to win 1520. 500 more risk for 340 more reward?

Hope this helps

He was a risky player and he won. I think that your bets were very risky too. When you saw possible straight, you should be more concervative in betting!

I would either check the turn or the river. Betting 3 streets represents a really strong hand and only gets called by better because 1 pair really isn't that strong. Overall you really just got unlucky but i would bet either turn or river, not both.

I see no problem value betting close to a pot value until any draw that your weak opponent might have, finally arrives.
I also agree with eetenor, its' a good starting point, great post!
