Generally if I've made it this far I am on a decent stack and protect it while all the short ones are trying to double up. Attacking blinds from late position and getting it in ahead against the shortys.

sometimes i get scared to attack some players...but i notice the ones who try to fold to min-cash(shortys) I try not to be overly aggro in some games

you should be taking care of raising hand that you won't call a shove with when short stacks are behind you or in the blinds.

I think that at that point you should be more selective with the cards you bet and you should already have a decent reading of your opponents, have a little more patience

today i played the casino.org freeroll which pays 54 places, managed to place 124 out of 5003. This is where i need help the most, what sort of hands should i be playing here, i've been folding around 80% of my hands since 500 players still in. I had a decent stack all hte way to bust out (+30 bigs ) then final 3 hands- 22 min-raised 1caller no high cards flop bet bet bet guy calls all the with 97s he had pair of 7's, very next hand 55 all in doubled up short stack guy called wit J3o in MP,- got moved 88 allin (8bigs) lost to A6

This is where you have to use some of your reads about your opponents.[If you have a HUD even better, if not try to play focused and write down some notes about them].
The general rule says that with 20-30 BBs you tighten a lil beat and we play some serious poker, hopefully.Try to play in position as much as you can and do everything balanced. Don't open every button for instance.

ps. Don't forget that mid to late stages will always be the tougher ones simply because the field consists of better remaining players that in the beginning!

middle

by then, unless you have been forced onto multiple tables, you should have a better feel for what the rest are up to. some play crazy aggressive at first but they are actually really tight players, so when mid's come, you have them on a much wider range than rings true. i would say tighten up, but if everyone else is counting their chips and being safe, that would be counter-productive.

15-25 (resteal stack) is a good stack to repush in agressive players who use an loose open raise range.

Use your table image, if you've been tight loosen up a bit and try to steal more pots and collect blinds. Look for spots to steal. Remember what ranges certain players are opening and 3betting preflop. See who always c-bets and who doesn't.

My advice may not be the best but it works for me most of the time. Tighten up, wait for good hands, steal blinds and antes and try surviving while mantaining a healthy stack.

Dont do foolish fancy moves if you dont have the reads on your opponents, know what image you have sell, know the table dynamics to exploit and choose your spots for moves wisely. Basically I try just to mantain my stack, win some flips while waiting for players to bust at other tables. Patience helps a lot.

It's ok to play tight but if you are not getting hands and making chips that way you don't want to lose your fold equity because your stack is too small and fade away. I like to start shoving before my stack gets to 5M (M being sum of blinds and antes).

I only play the prem's and I play them aggressive. Then I only play prem's and limp/call If I hit the flop then very aggressive.

Low stakes best startegy is if you are first to act in early position and you are not holding a monster pair AA KK QQ just minraise or limp if someone raises behind you 3bet (here I meand hands like A-Q A-K or pairs lower than Jacks ) If you have monsters AA-KK-QQ you can even open jam you will always get a customer in early stages. In middle stages don't try any bluffs and don't open shove with big Ax keep shoving Category 1 hands like AA KK QQ rest of hands just limp and cold call
late stage any hand you are going to play you can ever Open jam or just call All,

No problem! Just be sure to use this strategy with the right player (aggressive that plays many hands and open with raise) and with hands that have a good equity if you take a call (ATo... A9s... KJo... KTs... QTs... 99-77 for example)

I try to adjust to the table, I think it really depends on bankroll, at the point especially in low stakes ICM will start coming into the minds of players. So if they start tighten up maybe widen your range, don’t play stupid but put some pressure on them to really make ICM decisions, when I look at a tournament I play to win, yea a min cash gets money back but does it really make any difference whether you finish 2 inside the money or 2 from the money to your overall bankroll?

A consistent theme here is, pay attention to your opponents. Take notes on them, look at your hand history, figure out which type or style of player you dominate and which you're being dominated by. Target the players you're dominating and make whatever adjustments are necessary against those opponents that are dominating you. You will find that it's not always the player or position in the tournament, but variance and everyone losses hands that were played perfectly. You may play a solid game throughout and still get knocked out. Post your swing hands, ask for some advice. Maybe, you could've played it differently, but then again you may have played it right. You don't want to constantly question yourself, losing self-confidence, and adjusting incorrectly.

Folding 80% during which time almost 400 players went out seems tight and the fact your open min-raised with 22, I'm assuming in ep? Is a fairly loose play and probably polarizing. It would seem you might need to widen your range although possibly removing a few hands or adjusting what position you play them in while adding more hands.

Ultimately to get the best advice on the hands in question. We need more information. What information do you know about the opponent? How have they been playing? What's your position, stacks, blinds+antes? Need the hand history and not to base the advice or to reflect on the outcome, but how could we have played it better against our opponent to accomplish what we want.

Always, there is work to be done. Keep practicing, learning, and push on. You will get there.:pcguru:

I’d say realize that you’ll have to be willing to call much higher and go all in more often to catch up and you’ll have less rooms to make mistakes.

This is where patience comes in play. Listen to some good music. Maybe multi table to keep from getting bored.
