Recently I'm running really bad. I took a break and still find myself in so many unlucky spots. What can I do when I run really bad in tournament?

Just take a break a little more. Or maybe business is in your game?

I would recommend reevaluating your game but only cgange when you find and confirm a leak

Do not play when you are tilted. I have never seen someone win when on tilt. The game is the game best thing to realize is how much variance effects the outcome in the short run. I do not even know how many MTT you have to play to even the luck out...I am guessing it is like over 20,000 MTTs.

If you feel bad and can not show your best game, it's better to take a break and do some other things.

stop playing for the rest of the day, many times you can take a short break but it does not help, in fact it affects the rest of your day and your tournaments, if you take what is left of the day you can return renewed or with more energy

Have faith. Have patience. Think back to when you last had good cards coming. Was there ever a time when good cards never came? I can guarantee you will eventually run right again. It's the law of distribution.

If bad results continue, there are many days to come! Close the application and play next day!

It depends what kind of spots your getting into. If your getting into coolers like KK vs AA (Like my last two busts) there is not much you can really do. It just happens. You have to brush it off and keep playing. You could try lower buyin tourneys til you feel like your run bad is over. Look back on your previous games and see if you are making any big mistakes.

First off you shouldn't be taking breaks, if you're running bad. You play through the run bad. If you're tilted that is a completely different story. Tilt is something you can control, running bad isn't. sometimes these two things go hand in hand and might be why some people get them confused. Running bad would be losing flips multiple times, Math is a Fact it will even out and prove to be true in the long term. If you're getting your money in good every time and losing this will change. What is most likely happening is some decisions being made that are less than the optimal decisions......If this isn't true, and you really are "Running bad" play more and believe in math. If you're properly rolled this shouldn't be a problem.

Like most have said already, there's a difference between running bad (coolers, tough spots, villain suckouts) vs playing bad. If you can 100% say you're running bad, just keep practicing and playing within your BMR and keep grinding as your good poker will win in the long run. If you're playing bad but don't know what your leaks are; try a poker hand analysis software to find leaks and watch/listen to poker vlods/streams/analysis whenever you can. Ask yourself, am I truly trying to improve while I play? If you can't answer that, you need to review your game.

Try freerolls for a change, or, don't play for a while longer.

I than play some games or slots in casino :D

LOL, I asked and blocked Casino and Sportbook at my account. I won't be able to play even if I tried. So, I do only play Poker and no other shit.
I did that because I tilt and burn my cash on casino sometimes.

If after a break you keep running badly you should change your way of playing or strategy and create one where you can look for better results. The bad spells are not eternal but there is a bit of help for luck:ciao:

Hi, depends on your "style" of play, do you play "small ball" or as i like to say "power poker" ?
In my own game it seems i can be victim to my own success, winning or tabling now and then seems to "breed" a kind of "impatience " at times which leads to over betting and other risky practices,
My small advice (however it is worth) is try more basic small ball poker, slowly accumulate and avoid huge risk taking situations, (the art of skillful folding).
And let's see what happens? A live experiment if you will.
Just my $0.55

you have to be sure that you run bad and not that you play badly. for that always improve you skills. Then when you run bad you but that you continue to play good, you should continue to play but if you begin to tilt, stop to play. stop to take more tournament and the tournament that are there you should relax a maximum and try to make the best decision

The 1st thing you should do is review your play. You must also be brutally honest with your self when doing this. You might be surprised to find out you are not just running bad but making a critical mistakes that are hurting your game as well. After a 9 month downturn I did this and was shocked to see it was not all running bad but a fundamental change I make in my game and I never knew I had done it. Withing a few weeks time I broke out of the downturn with a deep run in a several events. Just remember to be brutally honest with your self when reviewing your play. Good luck to you.

If the tournament before the break, played a very even after the break will be the same. Often he loads himself thinking about what you have no luck, and it makes it difficult to gather

What are you doing during your breaks. Try to get some exercise, study more and try to better yourself. If you keep running into downswings, look into your game. Ask friends for advice. Sometimes downswings happen but you need to stay positive and keep working on your game to improve.

I'm having the same situation as well, my decision making is off enough to cause me to even hesitate to play right now. I've put my buy-ins on hold to try and not destroy my bank roll. I'm only playing free rolls and until I'm back to playing consistent so I don't risk anything I'm not willing to lose.

It might be something you'd want to consider, remove any of the extra stress/anxiety the game might be causing and just have some fun playing games that don't cost you anything.

When you got a bad run, you gotta take a look at your game.

Calling way to many 3 bets
Flatcalling to wide a range in early position
Playing to much out of position
Calling with bad odds
Giving away too good odds to villain
Ignoring your gut feeling
Not analyzing the hand right
Playing tired
Playing while watching tv or other stuff
Poor handling of bankroll management
Playing the right type of poker

Educate yourself even more, bring your A game up to speed ;)

The ONLY reason to take a break is if running bad causes you to play poorly or go on Tilt.

Taking a break isn't going to change how the cards will run out for you. I'm amazed by the answers here (again no surprise there... sigh). Do you think that by taking a break the cards will fall differently because some new pattern of LUCK is now going to fall upon you?

You play. While playing you make the best possible decisions based on the information you have in each & every spot. End of story. That's all there is to it.

Also, spend more time studying the game. You might not win a lot more but you probably won't feel the need to take a break in hopes of it changing your luck... & you'll probably lose less.
