so very annoying in lower buy in tourneys (under $10 plus rebuy option) I'm not sure why some ppl keep going all in with what ever they have. weather they got a 4 10 un suited or aa ... so unpredictable but at the same time wtf??? I enter a tourney to play and I want to spend as little as possible and hopefully make it to the end. but with ppl doing this type of play who seem to have endless amount of cash and keep rebuying as they go all in and lose half the time. for me I try to just be super patient and then end up just getting so annoyed with it cuz how the heck is one supposed to play against those u just throw all in pre flop every time....???? any one have any ideas and if your one of those ppl who do this ... why???? should I be waiting to buy in to tourney at the end of the rebuy and late registration period and just hope I get good enough cards to get past the higher blinds or should I just move on and find other tourney options? I find the ones with rebuy options usualy have higher pay outs then those with out the rebuy and add on feature...

I recommend avoiding rebuy tourneys with low buy-ins all together and depending on your bankroll I suggest $5-$10 multi table sng's or tourneys with only a short period for late registration. This would probably be the best way to avoid the people like that.

They're going all-in because they have the bankroll and trying to gain an edge by getting lucky. Being patient will bleed you from your chips. Buying in late also crutches you from the rest of the field.

You're going to have to gamble a bit, but not too much. Widen your call range, A10o+ and 88+, possibly even 66+ if they're just shoving any 2. You want to go against these guys because you'll always have an edge, they just may get lucky once in a while.

Personally I don't like rebuy tourneys or those with a long late registration period. Because some players may buyin many times, it is hard to determine where you stand .

thankyou for the great feed back

ive come to the conclusion that the low buy in with long rebuy period is best to stay away from today tried out a little higher buy in and made it to the final table twice once coming in 5th and then came in second :)

This kind of tournament has two strategies:
1. Keep on all-in to increase your chips quickly (don't think this part is poker, it's strategy. low cost to increase your chips quickly)
2. Keep on patient until a good hand to all-in.

Long rebuy period tournament has late register and add-on function.
Use it, otherwise stay away from this kind of tournament.

I honestly love seeing people going all-in every hand or every 3rd hand. I know they don't have that many premium hands so I just wait for my opportunity to double-up through them.

This is wide spread in low table hands that's for sure because they think they can double up with king ten or some type of hands you should just wait for the opportunity and you would double up instead of them which happens always with me :D

If you don't enjoy it nor have the BR to play that way or avoid the huge variance in rebuy's- play freeze out mtt only.

Ppl that have bigger BR and are playing that way are doing as way to accumulate chips quickly, and prob half are probably solid players, other half are prob just rich drunk idiots... : )
Gamble it up if you can afford it, or don't play such a big level rebuy...
good luck

Though with Gus it was proper strategy, loved that video xD

Anyways I would be happy playing against people like that, as soon as you notice they shove any 2, just call them off with a proper hand (in late position) and you got a nice chance to double up.

As for , I also don't like rebuy tourneys or those with a long late registration period. Because some players have oportunities to buyin many times, it can be hard to determine where you stand .

Isn't that those guy who lost $14.380.941 after 845.318 hands some years ago?
Great example to me about what can happen even to great players when they stop controlling their emotions and forget about BR management. :joyman: :deal:

And yeah, shoving every hand is an old amusement of many donks on micro limits and freerolls probably since times online poker was born. Have to deal with it or try to reach higher limits asap, where it gets too expensive to make jokes like that.

just keep folding. the blinds will be low at the beginning. just wait for your hand, and play your game.

I like when players play very loose and go allin a bunch. It's risky to make a call but given the right reads than calling sometimes can be very profitable

Due to the low buy-in most ppl dont care. The buyin is so small it doesnt affect them. So they all in every hand hoping to get lucky and stacked some ppl from early giving them a advantage. Consider those ppl to be fish. When i see it happening i continue to play my ranges and and try not to get affected by it.

Hands and position

Keep waiting for a good hand and good position . Have a wider call range in position . So A J 3rd or 4th to act is not good to call as others behind you might call .also if everyone is in and your late position fold as well. If your in late position and there's only 1 or 3 in pot and they are always going all in you can call .
Watch who does what .who calls the all in idiot and with what . even if you think your ahead if there's too many in pot fold unless you have a monster. AK is not a monster against 9 players only AA KK and maybe QQ if everyone's in . the lower the amount of callers the more you can open up if they have been calling with mediocre hands.

Other idea is switch to non rebuy tournaments with at least 5 to 10 buy ins most ( not all ) players are more conservative in these games.

So you want to play against better players?
Are you trying to move up to where they respect your raises?

It's not hard to find basic poker strategy and mathematics advice, asking for it with vague anecdotes and rhetorical questions might be one way. It's probably not optimal though.

Hey man, You ok?

Well unfortunable this things happnes a lot on micro stakes and in the tournaments with rebuy happnes a lot, I don't lik the rebuys because of this.
On this tournaments when I play I enter in the first blind and be very tight and wait for the good spots and good cardsl, almost never I do much rebuy only still the blind 75/150

Just avoid those tournaments. I agree it's superannoying!!! They keep pushing all-ins with 5♡ 8♧ or 3♢ 9♤ or whatever untill they get lucky.

Turbo/hyper tournies with unlimited rebuy have to be played like a higher buyin (have unlimited rebuys) adjust your buy-in ranges when going into rebuys to make sure you arent under pressure.
