Sorry, but that will not work. You will need to learn to raise your marginal hands and bluffs the same as you would raise your monsters. I understand that you would want to risk less chips with less of a hand, but if you do so, people will read you like a book. Raises should be consistent. For instance the amount I open raise for ranges between 2.5BB-3BB in early position, 3-3.5BB in middle-late position and 3.5-4BB in the small blind. The amounts vary depending on if antes are in play and the amount of remaining players, but do not vary for hand strength. If there are any limpers I will add approximately 1BB to my raise for each limper.
This is quite a bit more aggressive than the limping and minraising that you currently do and for good reason. Poker is best played aggressively. You will need to learn to put your opponent on a range of hands, then learn how to get away from a hand when you are behind and how to extract the most value from your opponent when you are ahead.
