I played 8.80$ (6 max) turbo tournament and I was sitting on a big blind.

Blinds: 1200/600

Everybody folded except small blind raised to 4500$.

I had AQ suited of hearts. I felt like he was bluffing and he would wanted to steal.

So my stack (28 000) his stack (18 000).

I waited a littlebit and pushed ALL IN. And can you imagine??

HE CALLED WITH 76 offsuited..

Turn came 7 and I lost 18 000.

Seriously I need help here. How should I have been played this? Did I do wrong move? I felt like what is the point of online poker when guys call with everything. I have seen many guys calling with even 7-2 and win.. So can you give me a good advice how to stay alive at all?? Thanks! :)

Easy !! so when u agianst with them make sure u having a mid or top pair . when preflop .
Of course playing higher card doesnt mean u always win , just giving u more chance to win :)
and give up hand with ak or aq when u got it too much time in a row

call the villan tighter and 3bet him lighter if you really believe he is light

otherwise you are letting him print money, if you limp fold its bad and if you never 3b....its easy for him to get away when you really have a hand

I think sitting on a big blind you don't have too many choices, even know he was bluffing and he would wanted to steal. Except that you hold tight pair, otherwise 50-50 to win or lose. and his stack less than you, the pressure of bubble push him to All-in is reasonable. If you did want to win you must take risk.

You can take your risk and shove if you believe in your hand .Thats they way most of players do at the position of small blind try to steal. You played that hand good but sometimes the worst hand win :( your thinking was right that was a bluff thats a skill to know when your opponent bluffing even the most good players can lost from a good bluff

Well its just unluky it happens to me all the time. You did call and i think that was a good call. You had better stack and you had to call and that was a turbo tournament so you needed double up. And QA is a very good card for double up.

u did it right... he made a bad mistake, starting with a preflop bet size (he wanted to steal with a marginal hand and made raise way to big ) but with such a raise he binded him self to the pot. with AQs yo made it all right. he is a fish and luck sometimes is on their side...

From my point of view, you have played wisely. Your opponent is not very smart, he just went at great risk, using the lack of opponents to increase the stack, as he had a short enough to qualify for the prize. I do not think that he often wins using such weak hands.

When someone raises this big out of a smallish stack size like that, they will rarely fold. However you have a very strong hand, so you played it well imo, just don't expect him to fold very much, the cool thing is that we dominate a ton of his raise/call range and since he's terrible it's even better. So just note it, move onto the next game, you played it perfect he played it as bad as he possibly could have, that's poker, if there wasn't bad players like this no one would make money.....

It should depend on the villain tendency to begin with.

Many mistakes people make is being really oriented. Poker is more than any one outcome. Is a collection of choices be them correct or incorrect. What you need to realize is that you're in a 60/40 basically. Ask yourself if it's worth it. I'd do the same most of the time but a car can be made for folding (bubble play for example or an extremely short stack). But there certainly is no shame in your play. Better luck next time!

Your play is just proper and standard. His is so loose.

From time to time, bad beats and suck outs are there, but in the long run, proper play pays off.

I have no idea who you were up against, and at the same time, I know that guy all too well.

Sometimes you have to trust your read. And if you believe he's light and you trust your read, then the move is to come over the top of him. He drew out on you is all. It happens. But that doesn't mean that your play was wrong or that he didn't make a bad call. Sometimes the worst players seem to get the luckiest until they don't. All you have to do is keep an eye on them. Watch the way their chips seem to be on a yo-yo string. One horrible call might send them to the top of the leaderboard. The next one might send them to the bottom.

You played the hand well and applied pressure based on your read. In this spot the villians is just lucky and making errors. It can be hard to not be results oriented. We also have tendencies toward remembering the times we were in unlucky spots like this and each new one reminds us of all the others. Break that habit and focus on your play, consider the options you had and weather you played well. Correct mistakes and continue to improve, results will follow. Good luck
