In monthly ranked tournaments such as PokerStars School, where you need to play well all month and put your tournament skills into practice because each position is worth points, what are the best ways to play these tournaments, where, not only the result of one day counts, but the whole month?

Remembering that in the month of July I stayed at 7 with a total of 431.33 where the first place made 637.38. That's 33 with a score of 252.74...

This ranking tournament is a type that I really like ...
In the first month (June) I was in 12th place.
In the second month (July) I was close to the bubble (the bubble is 21, I must have been between that and 25)
In the third month (August) I was in 10th place.
And now in September, I'm playing focused from beginning to end and doing the math from the beginning ...
It is an excellent tournament, with good prizes.
But I confess that I see some that I don't like very much, but it doesn't matter.
In July I had a lot of difficulty because the structure of the tournament changed ...
But now it's new life ... and let's go up.
Good luck and see you at the tables ... :)

This tournament sometimes bothers me, it has horrible hands that win and we see those crazy people who are almost falling ...
They do crazy things, almost always, and suddenly they get too high on the table ... and they can start playing more controlled
The other day I played two hands ... an AA against K8s, villain had more chips, took it and went to Rebuy.
In the other hand with AKs, ask JTo on the river ...
But it's part ... life that goes on ...

You should play this still like normal tournaments in my opinion, because top places are way better. It doesnt really matter if you finish 40 with 21 points or 39 with 21,5 points (for example). But it matters when you finish 3rd instead of 4th

Hi there Everaldo,

Apologies for my delayed reply, it's been a 'busy' few days in one way or another...

Similarly to ScoobyEdu, I love this type of competition because it rewards consistency across a whole series of tournaments, compared to binking a 1st place in a solitary MTT (which anyone can do on their lucky day).

Very much consider myself a 'MTT-4-lyfe' kind of guy and always hoped/envisioned myself as a large-field specialist/grinder, as many initially do before coming back down to reality with a bump...

I used to play the old style pokerstars online PokerSchool leagues, before it went to the high school/university/masters structure and worked my way from the bottom league to the top league with consecutive promotions in my first two seasons, I remember being chuffed and encouraged about that!

To be honest, judging by your posts so far- you have a good idea what you're doing so, keep doing the things that are working for you and pay close attention to the things that go wrong...

With a league competition, in my opinion, patience is crucial and it pays to adopt a slow and steady, small-ball approach as default while (of course) constantly being on the lookout for spots to acquire chips. This is probably obvious, ABC, stuff but it's a great (tried and tested) foundation to build from.

Now, everyone will have their personal predispositions/preferences and 9 out of 10 times I would not recommend someone play in any way other than that which they feel works for them and they are comfortable with (unless it is diabolical*) but at the same time it's highly beneficial for a LAG to learn TAG and a TAG to learn LAG, even if it's then just something they have in the locker... :flute:

Make notes on players, you'll be seeing them again!

Ensure you play every single game you're eligible for, if you don't have the option to do that it's unreasonable to expect to compete for the win if you know other people will have full attendance..

Hmmm... Well, I guess that's all the inane dribble I have for now...

Ultimately it comes down to consistency and discipline. Did you have any more specific questions?

All the best, I believe you can triumph! :congrats:

*But who am I to judge? :tomato:

:congrats:
*Mas quem sou eu para

julgar? :tomato:[/CITAÇÃO]

Good afternoon. Thank you very much for the innumerable tips, Make sure that many of them I am already doing and others I will start doing from now on. As you mentioned it is a type of tournament where many of the players repeat themselves and it is very important to make notes of each one of them.

Good afternoon. Unfortunately this type of situation will always happen regardless of the tournament and the amount. In POker, not always the best Pre flop hand wins, if it were like this AA would never be beaten. But it is useless to be dejected or discouraged by this. Tomorrow it happens the other way around and you win AA pair with hands you shouldn't win in theory ...

Good afternoon, thanks for the tip. You can be sure that it will be very useful in the next tournaments.

Good afternoon, Hj playing the Pokerstars School ticket. I was eliminated from AA x 22. These types of hands are part of the game. Unfortunately I was unable to gain entry to the WCOOP.

A liga escolar voltou?

Good night, Before I actually used to play in the Brazilian team, but time is up, so I've been playing from Monday to Thursday at Inglesa and the level is very good.
