Been playing in an $10+1 MTT on PS. Usually has around 2,000 entrants. Ive been in the money 4 out of the last 8 times. Nothing big but still ITM. I know 8 games is nothing and will soon be back down to my usual 10-15% ITM but enjoying it right now.

Anyways the blind structure is increasing every 15 minutes compared to the usual 10 minutes in most MTTs. Played in another MTT this weekend with the 10 minutes blinds and man what a difference it seemes. Felt like a turbo.

Anyways really like the longer blinds and wish they'd offer more of these even if they had to cap the number of entrants.

keep up the good work. I also prefer the longer blinds, gives you a chance to see some hands. Sure doesn't gaurantee anything , but its nice to have some time to wait for better hands and you get to see how the others are playing, you seem to get a better handle on the type of player they are. Oh well, good luck and keep the string going.

Longer blinds let you sit and wait for better hands, but shorter blinds make you really try to exploit your opponents. I personally think that shorter blinds are more fun and exciting because the inexperienced players get all nervous about the fast blinds and you can easily figure them out and pull their chips your way.

Longer blinds makes for better play takes out a bit of the luck factor, you get more cards, but also stays at same table longer, to get reads on your opponents.

I prefer the longer blinds as well. It's nice being able to wait a tad bit longer for hands

I personally like the longer blind structure when playing a tournament. For me it feels like you can play with more patience and manage your risk better. I will look for these types when buying in.

Speaking of the 15 minute blinds. Are there any other MTT's with longer blinds than 15 minutes on PS or FT

Yea, if i remember the deep stacked MTT's, have 30min blinds. They go on for hours though.

There's a deepstacked at noon eastern on stars for the same buyin.

I think 15 minute blind levels were standard at stars until they added the fulltilt-like structure, 10 minute blind increase but with smaller jumps; 20/30/40/50/60/80 instead of 20/30/50/100...so you're really paying close to the same in average blinds per hour (atleast early on). Haven't looked recently to see which is more common now.

btw, Egon Towst posted a comparison of different mtt structures and how long it would take to blind out in each. I'll look for that thread...

https://www.cardschat.com/forum/pok...-comparison-162609/?highlight=blind+structure

...looks like Egon has the old standard pokerstars structure in the OP, but the example Rex posted is the other common one. Is that how it is now, 1500 stacks are 15 minute and the guarantee/3000 stacks are the the 10 minute?

I enjoy the 10 minute blinds. 15 minutes is just to long for me and turbos make people even more donkeyish.

I for some reason like 10 minute blinds, I have no idea why. But I can also wait longer for my hands at 15 and at 10 minutes I'd tend to get myself in trouble w/ bad hands as well.

I like turbo tournaments, its easier to get peoples money who feel rushed and have get something than someone who feels like I can fold this A 10 if he raises me all in.
