I spend most of my time at the tables closely watching the waitresses, so no time for the lobby. Why do you watch the lobby?

I watch it a lot. I like to know how many players are left, how much time is left in early registration, what is the average chip stack and what is my position (not real worried about my position early in a tourney). As it gets close to the money, I usually pop up the lobby window and put it in a place on my screen where I can monitor when people go out. Once I get into the money, I like to keep an eye on what the next break for the prize to increase is, plus all the other pertinent info (avg. chip stack, position, etc.). I also try to keep an eye on how many people have less than 4 BBs left.

In a satellite > LOTS!
In a regular tournament ... not so much. I will glance occassionally to see when it is getting close to the money so I can make adjustments &/or take advantage if possible. I might also glance occassionally to see when blinds will be increasing.

i watch the lobby most of the time when the bubble is about to burst. also when im already in the money I sometimes view the lobby to see how much money i have made and how many players left to keep increasing my winnings.

When I play a big tournament, lobby is always open. At the beginning I watch occasionally, but when the tournament is half way, the lobby becomes more important to me.When we reach the bubble, the lobby is more important then my cards, It's even possible that I throw away a good hand.

Since I multitable tournaments, having multiple lobby pages open is not a good thing. I do however play with the info tab of each table at hand so I can see mainly the tournament average stack size and what my position is in the ladder. After a couple hours I do take a glance at the lobby to see how many places get paid and if I'm close to the bottom players or rather above them. When I'm lucky enough to get deep and there is say 2 or 3 tables left in one tournament Im in I do open those other remaining tables to see how the other guys are playing. But that's it. For the most part I try not to care much about the lobby information.

You need to pay more attention and focus on your table. If you are the leader on your table then you've likely got a chance to advance into final tables. Once you are getting near the bubble, then you should start checking what's going on elsewhere in the tourney. I check the lobby more towards the end of a tourney. Who cares what's happening right out the gate.
