As in title. Do you think wait for monster cards is good choice when you are chip leader? Or maybe better way is making pressure on your opponents? What You think about that?

You can pick your sports, but being a bigger stack you want to take advantage of certain situations. You can wait for monsters but nothing guarantees you will win those hands so whats the point in waiting around for them?

What tactics to choose when you are a chip leader, decides the number of remaining players in the tournament. If this happened to you at the beginning of the tournament, then you just need to keep playing as you've played before. If in the middle of the tournament, then, more inclined to premium hands. At the last table, I personally wait for less players. When there are 2 or 3 players, then I presenge.

I think you should put pressure on your opponents.

Play your usual poker. You become readable and exploited, tightly waiting monster or making pressure.

When you are big stack you can open with litterally any suited cards and any pair. At any position. And dont call to much the 3-4 bets from early .

Being the big stack puts you in a good position to steal a lot of blinds and generally take control of the table. Unless you're up against some very aggressive players I wouldn't sit around and wait for a monster hand.

I think waiting for a monster even if you're chipleader is a bad strategy, such game easily readed, what you'll gonna do with your strong hand if no one gonna play with you. Just play like befor it, but carefully with big-stack players and agressively with short-stacked.

The best play while the big stack is to be the table bully and steal blinds and push others to the brink of there tournament or game lives,,,it`s not pretty or you piss people off,,,,but you have to do it:cool:

I think if you wait to long (not playing many hands) and suddenly hit the table with a raise, players will likely fold. Not only under suspicion of a big hand, but also not wanting to table with a large stack.

I think that you should press to be the chip leader, but it is always better being in position and against short stack.
Against medium, big stack and aggressive players would be more selective with my cards.

Play tight aggressive. Don't begin thinking previous fortune will lead to future fortune. I've seen too many leaders drop off the board by thinking they are invincible.

I always try to pressure to other stacks when I'm in the lead and the only thing that really happens for me is having my chip stack taken down regardless of big hands or speculative cards. I usually got the big stack waiting for a monster and try those chips to open my range up. In the future I am going to try the other way and tighten up to protect my big stacks and let the short stacks beat each other up.

Constant pressure, but smart. Your opponents do not need to feel comfortable on the table.

But when you are the leader , it is likely to play a broad range of hands ??? I think this option is better than waiting for top pair !!

Force other players to either go all in or fold, if you have slightly good cards. I am talking about tournaments :D

i heard they say if you have a lot of chips you can try to play with any suited connectors or card with 1 or 2 gap and you can win a lot of chips.. maybe
