HI all!
Playing freerolls tourneys I find that value of the game, your strategy/plan for game, is negligeable compering with real money tournaments. I think participating such kind of tourneys you can face more confuses with following your strategy on the game that’s why you cannot learn good enough from this game. You can understand from freerolls tourneys only one thing – how lucky are you! Because nothing spending on buy-in every body instinctively will play what he wants trying to be more successful/lucky in actions at the table. Other thing is CC freerolls. This is almost fun for members). So, what do you think about freeroll games, guys?

my opinion on freerolls, online

actually freeroll tournaments is more about luck than anything else, but real money tournaments in low buy ins
it does not change much
basically the same all in lucky players

"compering with real money tournaments"

Which tournaments?

I think freerolls is good Yes, there is hard to play out of the fact that there are many players and on the other hand, you can not win flavoe of money, because in a tournament with entrance fees chopper also still the same so not much they differ.

Freerolls are good practice for being patient. With all of the shoves, do you want to get it all in with 60% equity, or keep on folding and wait to have a premium pair?

I think free roll is a great way to earn money without using any, if you intend to get better at playing poker, why don't you study books, watch videos and try to understand the game deeper and imply that in freerolls or even any play money poker sites.

I don't think it's all about luck, if you're good enough you'll cash in those free rolls in a matter of time.

You can't lose money with freerolls meaning they are impossible to deny the value of.

I've made so far $1.50 from the 9/8 or whatever freerolls of CC I've played in.

I meant any tourneys with buy-in starting up from $1.1 etc.

If you can make it past the first few minutes of bingo poker the players left usually play a lot more like a cash buyin tourney imo. Free rolls are really good at letting you practice strategies and build your bankroll if you can stay in the long run. But I do agree that of all the formats, I’ve seen AA busted the most in free rolls with crazy hands so do watch out for that but otherwise keep playing free rolls if not for just the fun of playing poker [emoji5]

Well, let's say some player has roi of 100% at 1-2$ tournaments. It's doable right? We can safely assume that you can have at least similar results in CC freerolls too. So let's say if you have 500 players in CC tournament on average (I don't know real number btw), then the value of tournament will be 20 cents on average.

In Freerols the risk of loosing money is 0, so Free rolls are really good for having fun, trying strategies and build your bankroll if you are in good day.

Those large field ones are a bit of a lottery you got to get lucky to win anything. There is so much bad play that you can some times loose your strategy and game when you play too many.

The smaller fields like the ones CC has are very valuable. There are some pretty good players in CC ones so you can improve your game a lot as they play more like a real money MTT. Also your chances of actuallly winning something is greater.

Even small stakes tournaments or even cash games feel the same. People just don't care and ruin the beaty of the game

well ... I started to play poker with Freerolls, nowadays I play these Freerolls of $ 50.00 add to train moves in position and as the game presents itself to me, I decide whether to go ahead or not.
The CC Freeroll is different because on most days the number of members is only 170 players and the prize is good for that number of players.
I like playing these tournaments because we play good, middle and bad players and not paying entry, it's a great way to practice style of play, moves and strategies to be more competitive.
We are together.

I think they're great.

yes, there's a lot of maniacs that shove any 2 cards in any situation....but who cares? they get lucky once or twice but will self destruct sooner rather than later. just be patient

Also, playing with that style of player teaches you when to make big folds and when to hold your ground.

I think freerolls are always great, because you have no invest. You can try different styles of your own play and moves. You have the possibility to build up a bankroll with them. Well, they are not always so nice by format on some sites or maybe it depends on your own flavour. But it is just always a chance to win something for free. And you always can play them, even when you are tired or in not so good condition.

I think the CC freerolls are really different to usual freerolls, because there are a lot of long term members involved, who play good solid poker. So they can be educational as well. And if I think about the League games, they are really nice competition.

Someone wrote down the following information about freerolles, which I think it is true.
At 1 table:
3 don’t know how to play
3 are playing in all the freerolls they can find and
2 don’t care at all what they’re doing

Hello, new member here. I've been playing poker less than a year. I started with play money poker Apps like Zynga, then to online freerolls. I've probably played over a thousand freerolls by now. I've cashed in four or five and at least one of those was first place. I've also played one live $50 buy-in that I finished just outside the bubble and I played in a live $2-3 nl cash game I profited $130 from. I would play micro-stake but I am having issues making a deposit.

As far as freerolls go, I believe they are invaluable to a new player like myself. I think I have gained a lot of experience and learned many lessons about the game that have probably cost others a lot of money. Freerolls are chaotic and heavily luck dependent but this will teach patience and awareness. I think if one approaches a freeroll with the right attitude they can be fun and educational. Just be prepared to loose in ridiculous ways.

On another note, I would strongly advise against any play money poker phone apps. I feel like it is easy to adopt bad habits from casual play money games. On Zynga Poker for instance, everyone pretty much calls no matter what and almost every hand goes to showdown. So concepts like value betting go out the window.

Just my two cents

I learned much by playing freerolls... Over time, its best to make a deposit and play for real money, in real pay out games....
