Question about when/how much to value bet. I've been playing a lot of Micro MTTs and found it to be useful to shove with a made hand to make it look as though I'm bluffing. For example:

I was in a tourney with about 100BB and in the BB.

UTG is the SS and min raises, gets two callers and I decided to call 6-3 suited getting a great price.

Flop comes K-4-7 rainbow and it checks around.
Turn brings the 5s and my gin card, I check to check raise and it checks around again. The river brings a blank and I am first to act and decide to push, which is a massive overbet, hoping to get called by the SS, which I do, (QQ).

My question is that I see a lot of people min betting to try to get value for their made hand, but shoving can be a good bet because it looks like a bluff and you will get paid off huge if someone hero calls. Profitable play in the long run?

I think value betting is not just all in its like 5bb or more cuz if you shove there is a possibillity that no one calls if you bet like for example 4bb even 2 players can call

Yea I agree usually, but against weak players who assume bluffs too often, why not try to extract the max value if I think I will get a call occasionally

I guess that in microstakes it is more profitable to just value-shove your nuttish hands cause players are so bad ( as in ur exaple where a player got married to a QQ on such a board).

But as the stakes go up, its definitly better to value like 33% - 50% of pot.

well from what i seen you need to be careful when doing this cause if ya run into a donkey and you will they can catch and crack your made hand.

yeah that's great from time to time to mix it up and shove in for max value, in your exemple the player with QQ is really bad ! a King on the board and a straight !! but if you do this more often you're not making money in the long run. cause in your exemple only someone who slow played (AA, AK, 2 pairs or a set) will call. i think you have to bet the turn here to build the pot for the river, and bet about 75% of the pot in the 5th street. if someone raises you on the turn you have to shove cause if he has a set he got 10 outs so you protect your hand. and by value betting keep in mind that you're hoping to get a caller so don't discourage them.
