I know situations are different every hand, but I seem to be having a little trouble finding the proper range to play in UTG/UTG+1. I like to play a little wider range when I can afford, especially from late with little action. Suited connectors and hands like that.

But what range should I be playing from early? Also consider stack sizes. If im a sizeable stack at the table can I widen my range a slight bit from early?

Im not the "Correct" TAG player everyone thinks you should be. But im also not LAG. Somewhere in the middle. Risking chips to gain chips, and usually works well for me. Except when I 3,4,5x it from early and see raises/reraises and have to get out.

No need to raise so much, you can make it 2.5x without antes and just 2x when there are antes and risk much less than you are now.

If you are going to raise under 3x you should be prepared to play flops against more players. raising 2x and 2.5x works if you are comfortable with a small ball type style of play but if you are asking what hands to raise under the gun i would think playing like this is prob a little more advanced strategy. If you are comfortable and can read hands well and do well in multi way pots raising less than 3x will work if not stick to 3x or even more pending on your skill level. What hands you raise pre should fluctuate from table to table. Youll get tables where raising every other hand no matter position or cards will win you money. You sit at a table with more experience youll prob have to tighten up a bit. It is going to vary but obv raise premiums but what i recommend is no matter the table you play at through some type of wild card in there and raise with a suited connector type hand. You can t just raise with only a standard set of cards in any position other wise people will catch on to you fast. This does not mean everything you get suited connector you raise it, im just saying you gotta do it some point.

Tighten your range up from UTG

Whether your TAG LAG or you say in the middle shouldn't matter, why the F would you want to play a shit hand out of position.

Tighten up

If you are not comfortable playing multiway pots 4x or 5x is way of narrowing down the field. The lower you bet the greater the odds of someone calling you.
