Do you use a hud when playing online tournaments? Is it worth to have a hud, when playing tournaments?

Poker is a game of information, a HUD gives you stats, which are pieces of information. So it is "worth" using a HUD, as long as you are able to figure out the info that you are getting. Just like hands in poker , you can overvalue what you get from a HUD. I use a HUD, in tournaments my HUD only gives me a few basic stats, just a small part of all that I use to make my decision. Does everyone agree with me.?? Of course not, some good players do not use HUDs, it's all a matter of choice,

You can't multitable without a HUD but you can play one or two tables by your own. You don't have to rely on the HUD in every decission because those numbers will destroy your game. At some extent the HUD will provide you with some interesting info but personally when I make a FT I only look at the bbs ammount.

What Info are you seeking from the HUD?

What Info are you seeking from the HUD?

My HUD is very basic, especially for MTT's , VPIP, PFR how many hands they play, 3bet stat, how often they bet the flop, and that is about it. cash games you can look for a little more

HUDs are powerful tools if used correctly, but are no substitute for actual reads. The only thing worse than having no information is having incorrect information.

I have tried to use several trial huds but I didn't invest enough time in learning about what all the abbreviations stood for. Anyone with good knowledge that can explain what I'm looking at i would appreciate it

Learn to play with your head and not to trust the machine. On live tables you will have only your head and no one else.

Well it's not about it at all. You have a HUD just to collect the statistical information about your opponents, it stands for facilitating, not for replacing your thinking abilities. Of course notes and your own perception and which decisions you meet are more important things for success. But i'm glad to have a HUD too in addition to that, cause if i met somebody i played with some amounts of hands after few months, i have no time or mood of searching him through all my hand history and checking how did he played there. That work does HUD for me in a second and that's a great help. Also it shows me amount of blinds in every stack at the table (i know it simple math, but you have no time for that by playing, better use that time for other thoughts) and M number shown too. Also HUD makes much easier to tag the questionable hands for analyzing it later in replayer, where you also could check your percentages of winning the hand, ICM numbers and so on.

You can analyze using the program. The program will not help you on a live table.

Live poker and online poker have only one common thing: the rules. Online poker is something totally different from live poker. In online you play only one table and you have so much more tells on your opponents, simply because you can see them act. In online poker the only tell are those statistics.

Many players multitabling so they can't follow the action in every tournament without a HUD.If you play only one table at the time good for you and I'm in the same side with you. I'm not telling you that the use of a HUD is mendatory but I try to justify my opinion!

Furthermore is so good to use a HUD because you can review your hand in the replayer and discuss it with a more experienced player and tell you what he things about your play. Or even more you can see past hands of yours and compare your playing line and if you have make any improvement!

You are totally right there, obviously not. But.. i don't know about you. Well you see, the thing is.. like 99% of my poker time online. So.. :)

They aren't as essential as for cash games but in a long, deepstack or slow speed tournament they can be useful. Getting to the final table with a hundred hands of information on even just one player can be very useful.

Valid concern!

Like others have said, it is only good if you can use it right. It really is only a memory aid. In the case of Online poker, if you have seen a player before, and have a crummy memory, a tracker will be that memory.

I find a tracker better for determining how a player is playing today, vs how he played last week, or last month, or last year!. So while many will tout 1000 hands on a player to be a valid number to be able to depend on those numbers, I think anything over 200 hands or so doesn't take into account the players mood, or if he is improving.

So, I don't depend on my tracker, or my HUD, it is only another tool in my poker tool box.

Makes perfect sense. I know I play very different based on my mood so others must do so as well!

Multitabling is much easier with a hud because it's hard to pay attention to 20+ opponents but you're not out to any extraordinary disadvantage by not using one

Do you use a hud when playing online tournaments? Is it worth to have a hud, when playing tournaments?

A HUD is extremely important, even more if you're playing a lot of tables, because you will not be able to see many moves from the villains, so with HUD you will know who the villains are.

But, If you do not know how to interpret HUD's information, it's going to be worse than not using
