Ive been getting trash over my last 2 tournaments,

k4, q7, 510, 28, most of these off suit etc
havent gotten Ace,K,Q,J in the last too tournaments, (no big pairs either)

tourney 1 was a 300 dollar freeroll (pkr points buyin) 660 people, finished 44th (1 dollar lol)
not great, but I was hanging on getting medium hands, got lucky twice hitting hands when I had to shove. Then got unlucky shoving ace 10 suited (10 bigs left) vs ace 9, villain spikes a 9 on the river. no problem it happens.

Would you just write these tourneys off? or should i loosen up with suited connectors IP?

trying to play tight and solid.

What do you guys do to stop losing chips as blinds increase, I attack blinds too (when I can) . but its not enough.

Whats your problem? you cashed 1/2. Pros only cash 17-22% or somethin. I wouldn't start adjusting your game just yet.

SC's in multi way pots are nice.

Showing strength when others show weakness is good.

firing three barrels in a two way pot can sometimes be very profittable.

Just keep grinding. Put off a tight image and if you are running bad that should help you pick up some pots on some bluffs.

Do the best you can to get max value out of big hands.

Basically all I can say. Two tournaments is not a lot at all so just keep up the grind bud.

Just pay attention and pick your spots wisely.

Even better point,
Im playing in a tourney now, (on break)

48th/142 remaining (417 started)

1million chips avrg is about 800k
so just trying to grind it to the money.
No silly decisions until then lol

Just because you're not getting good cards doesn't mean you can win pots, watch for places where villains show weakness and you can take the pot before it goes to a showdown. Variance will swing the other way and you'll get a trainload of monster hands eventually, just hang in there and don't get frustrated and shove when you shouldn't.

Imho you need to work your tight table image by bluffing more in position ie the button or next to button. Also when I play tournies i will really open up at 20bbs. You just cant sit around waiting for aces.Good luck.

Sounds to me like you are getting blinded out by playing to tight and getting yourself in a situation where you have to call your chips in medium to poor hands.
This is very common in tournament poker for lots of players.
My best advice is while the blinds are still low ie inthe begining stages,to loosen up and see more flops with medium cards, try to get some chips built up so when the blinds get bigger and everyone tends to generally tighten up you can make some moves and gain more chips.
I honestly dont think anyone has ever won a tournament only playing premium hands and being so tight they getblinded out

Sometimes you are card dead and have to bluff/shove J8o or the like.

It can't be avoided unless you are one those lagtards who try to build a big stack early. Most of them bust out, though a few get through.

read the table and pick your spots. If your not getting aces, the chances are that noone else is either. Wait for the blinds to increase enough where its profitable to steal them.

When your getting short(ish), your going to have to take some risks. Dont be afraid to 4bet shove A junk from the button when the BB 3bets.

Dont be sfraid to call shoves with pocket 8's(unless your really deep and villain is also).

Up your agression and dont be afraid to gamble when you feel as though its important to double up. Just dont do it with anything less than A high or a PP or KQ minimum. dont be shoving 10-J suited or KJ.
