Hey so I like to play a lot of the turbos and hypers, but sometimes they seems to just have more randomness and are more card dependent. Anyone have any strategies for playing these? Like play tighter or more aggressive? I'm not really sure what to do in the fast pace when the blinds rise like crazy.

Agreed, I do the same thing. You'll encounter a lot of bad beats, but that's just poker.

Support all, only it is necessary to play aggressively.

What strategy can be in hyper? With an ace to change to mine, that's all. Nonsense. Turbo does not really like tournaments either. How can you build tactics if you see 10 hands in 1 blind? For me, so usual, where for 15 minutes the blinds. Here, everything is much more serious.

I consider turbos and hypers like bingo. I don't believe there is an optimum strategy. You just have to hope to get cards before you blind out. I think you have to be a bit patient on the first 3 levels, then pray you get hands if you have been card dead.

Tonkaaaa has a lot of videos on playing hyper turbos. He plays high stakes often, but it is really interesting anyway. I am pasting only 2 of his videos on hypers strategy, but he has a lot more on his channel and he streams on twitch quite frequently (MTTs mainly though).

In one of the videos he said he spent hundreds of hours on analysing different spots with 3-15BB stack size, which sounds quite impressive and actually you can clearly see that despite high variance, he has an edge on those games.

You are terribly wrong guys, there is a lot of strategy. Just because the variance is higher it doesn't mean it is random bingo poker ;)

I prefer turbo tournaments. It's convenient and you do not have to sit for several hours and wait until one of the players presses the button. And at the expense of strategy, I'm not even sure which is better to choose (

With hyper tournament I mostly play aggressive and, with this I mean, really aggressive. So minimal 3BB with good hands and sometimes all-in in the perfect spot. You have go gain a lot of chips early game and this should you pay-off in later stage.

But at the end, I more the guy who's plays turbo than hyper.

I play tight as I can, waiting for good hand to make a raise or go all-in. Limp with medium strenght hand. Pushing low stack ofc.
This tactic is luck dependant, sometimes I win and reach final tables in a smaller tournaments, now I am on the downswing, I lose in about last 10 tournaments vs weaker hands. Even in normal speed tournament, so it's always little bit of a lottery.

I agree that there's still a lot of strategy involved in winning these games, aggressive play from the start is a good way to go.

There are no secret strategies, the key is to find spots to play without a good hand or with a mediocre hand, such as Q9o, and I recommend to use the push/fold chart , but instead of following the blinds that the charts use, using lower will be more fittable cause in turbo tourneys your stack will stay about 12BB-15BB the later you stay on it.

on hypers always stealing is important, its not good to play with trash hands at early stages

If you are playing those types of games, you cannot afford to wait for premium cards because the blinds will eat at your stack. That being said you have to be selective to which hands you are going to play.

Ideally the strategies I would employ in these types of games, simply go all-in on any premium or good hand like K10, QJ.

The reality is there is not any skill in these games therefore shove all-in on any good to premium hand and hopefully it will take you far in the tournament.

This kind of tournaments for me are lucky, the variance can affect you more frequently as there is not much time to study your opponents and choose your cards
