Super turbos are ALL luck. No chance for any strategy, alot of shoving. Turbos are fine, in fact sometimes a preference for me based on time and patience. Play your normal game, realizing that your equity will go down more quickly, so your hand selection may broaden and you will have to push earlier. But it is fun and you won't get bored.

That's right! Many factors of luck and a little strategy is suitable!

I played some turbos, it's fun, it's fast, you do not get sick, but it is more difficult to make money with them as much luck is needed.

In turbo tournaments it's normal have less BB's than in regular tournaments, and I advise you to study hard the ranges of push/fold.

In a regular timed tournament, you usually have at least 45 to 50 minutes before you hit the danger zone if you have been card dead. In turbos, you have maybe 15 minutes, and a hyper turbo maybe 5. So expect a lot of early outs. Your range has to be much wider, and you have to have a thick skin because you will take bad beats more often. Don't risk your bankroll by pushing bad runs with more desperate play. Unless you get very lucky, you will not profit in the short run. Play your own style as long as it works.

Turbo is pretty good, sometimes better than normals beucase you dont have to spend much time and there is still a lot of room for strategy. Super turbo is insane, you will need a ton of luck.

Have to play your hand to its max. Especially if it is a great hand. No pussy-footing around in these types of tourneys.

Hi man. i dont play superturbo (hyper). i play turbo structure and is just fine. u can play more tournaments and faster than in the normal structure. in the end, all that counts is your hourly winrate.

When I play hyper turbo, its kind of like a freeroll. I wait for my hand and shove, then repeat. No raises, calls, bluffs, ect.. Just find a hand and double up. Usually the blinds go up 2x each orbit, sometimes 3x.

I do enjoy a normal turbo (5 min blinds). Shortens the tournament and late registration. I play those like any other tournament.

Hyper tournaments are mad, it's pretty much all-in contest. You can't play any mediocre hands. If you call blind, be ready to go all-in, as most times there will be at least one person to shove. Some of them do that with absolute trash, be careful. I've seen many pocket aces beaten by 48 straight or something similar. Avoid multi way all-ins. And it's better to play normal speed tournaments - more poker, less gambling.

the difference i put simply like this:
in normal AKs is ~ 4.5 bb raise from UTG, 5.5bb raise from MP, 7.5 bb raise from BU
in turbos/hypers ATo will be a shove from UTG called by J9s

the only strategy besides actual playing tactic is to play as many as possible (mind the bankroll of course). you will lose 19(or come at min ATM) and than finish 1st in 20th, and this will be your proffit.

I would advise putting aside ~30-50$ losing money and trying to play them. You will get the "feel" of the game, than you can decide are thay good for you.

If I may add, maybe try StNG or SpNG; 1st gave more strategy books and habe more of an actual strategy, after all playing 3 min blinds is better with 180 players than 5000; SpNG on the other hand have a "prize" strucure and have more cash game play.

If you just have raschityvaete razvlichenie, Super turbo is coming! No need to have a game plan, any pair or A, it can be played. Money is not possible to win, there will be ups, but losing race! Can slot machines and casinos is the best solution? Wants to drop in for 15-20 minutes and get a win - so there will not be!
Maybe try SnG for 16 people, at the time it would take very little, as well as Super turbo.

we need to start merging these threads into a "rigged megathread" type deal. It's actually quite frustrating that people don't seem to see the advantages of these games. Quite happy to do a startup thread which you can merge all of these types into mods, Maybe a "understanding hyper/turbo games thread"? Can collaborate and get a mod to type it out all nice help these ^^^ above actually understand why they can't make money on these formats.

I actually like turbos, people tend to play loose when blinds get bigger faster and they don't take all day to finish...

It isnt that much different, well poker is poker, but as the tournament structure is better get used to getting more bad beats and more preflop all ins when the blind go up high,
I love turbo mtts, but i preffer hyper turbo sngs for example.
