What do you guys think about Turbo sit and go Tournaments? Should i consider playing these, or just stick to the 10 and 12 minute blinds? What is a good turbo tournament strategy. Thanks.

Turbos have a higher luck factor or variance, but good players accept this to get a higher hourly rate by massive multitabling (you can simply play way more turbos than normal sngs). As a beginner i would stick to the regular "slow" sngs.

I've been fooling around with micro stakes hyper turbo SNG's with the few bucks I've picked up from Carbon donksteps, the variance is way up there and you start with so few chips that any raise pot commits you. Since you're playing for pennies people will call or shove with anything and it's just one suckout after another. I would stick with slower tournaments, I'm a beginning player too and I'm pretty much convinced that these hypers are a waste of time and money, there's little to no strategy involved other then shove and pray or fold and be blinded out.

it really depends on your style. I think the better poker players prefer enough time to outplay the others as well as deeper stacked tourneys. Although there is definitely a certain skill at dominating turbos. If you are loose aggressive player, you can be successful playing them. I prefer the types of tournaments and sngs where I don't have to get it all in with marginal holdings. My style of play is tight aggressive. I like to call it "Catch and Smash" poker. Especially at the lower limits, these guys will never fold. Catch your hand and bet the nuts into them

Hyper turbo and turbo sng/mtt are higher variance meaning you are going to be in more spots where you should be making calls/shoves based on situations forced by rapidly increasing blinds... If you are not confident in proper shoving and calling ranges in this style tournament, you are probably better suited to play sng with longer structures where you are allotted more time to "outplay" your opponents... two vastly different skill sets for each type of sit n go

Thanks guys. I think i will stick with the long blinds for now. On that note where,or what is the best long blind S&G games? Are there any with more then 12 minute blinds at micro low buy in , or what is the best? Thanks.

Either pokerstars or Full Tilt have nice sng structures. If you live in the US, I'm not really sure

7 to 10 minutes blinds should be more than enough. although if you are mutlitabling i guess 15 or more minutes is good enough. I would just go with what makes you the most money, remeber, that's what this whole grind is about. I think turbos are more about getting the money in good and hoping for the best. regular longer blind intervals give you the chance to use weapons, 3bets, bluffing scary boards etc
Just whatever makes you feel better

it´s all about Win Rate translated in Hourly Rate. If you can multi-table a lot of tables you would get better Hourly rate playing fast structures - Turbo/ Hyper-turbos. If you can only play up to 4 tables HU you will win much more playing slow structures HU sit´s where you can reach near 10% ROI.

A good ROI in Turbo HU sit´s is 5-8% and hyper-turbo 2-4%.
