A few of the games I play are of a turbo mtt variety and I need some help with the strategy I should be using later in the tourney when I am riding 8-15BB. Should I just be using a push/fold chart at this point?

What normally happens is in the mid levels I will have a nice 25+bb stack and go on a card dead run and before I know it, I'm down to 8-10bb and hoping for something to shove, and normally end up shoving lite. What strategy can I use to help maintain a stack with the fast increasing blinds when not getting very good cards.

I prefer deeper stacked slower paced games, but want to learn this short stack stuff as well

Learn to look for spots to stela blinds, punish limpers in position. You can't wait for a premium hands, loosen your range, but at the same time realize that when you do get a double up hand you have a good chance of tripling or quadrupleing up because blinds and antis go u so fast!

Clean all in with several players, not always expect premiun cards and take advantage of hand pairs is very advantageous, being aggressive with cards premiun will give you an advantage

Turbo tourneys are more about luck than skill. Having said that there are a few things you can do to improve your chances.

1 - Play tight aggressive for as long as the blinds are still comfortably low or your stack is large enough.

2 - Play marginal hands like TJs or 77 from the button by limping in to see a cheap flop and then if you connect strongly to the flop play it aggressively.

3 - Don't be afraid to lose. In any tournament players who are the most desperate to make it to the money are the ones that never get there. Pick your spots and go down with a fight if you must go down at all.

I like this tip of games. Here i do all in pretty mych with no monster hands pairs work perfectly A with almost everithing in position and no raise simple all in look for players that are unconfortable with this tipe of game they will wait for AA til Blinds will eat them and play of times,i mean IF you succeed in start with 1 2 all ins play thight dont call/go all in like you did in start til the blinds will become more agressive than repeat 1 2 all in succed again tight is a intresting type Hyper Turbo:)))

Great answers already!! I just wanted to point out that you must understand that you will be in more flip situations more often than in a regular speed tournament and of course there is less room for pre flop aggression[3bets, 4 bets]. So choose carefully what starting hands to open and against which opponents, we need hands that flop well , hands with raw equity and good post flop playability. Anticipate so much more variance!

There is no hope if you wait for monsters so situational aggression is a must! Hope the flip God likes you :p

Play like you do with 8-10 BB when you have 15-20BB. You're stack will steal more blinds at this size and if you do manage to double up you're more likely to go deeper in the tournament. Whenever you get that low you always need to double up, at least once. IMO you're better off attempting this earlier rather than later.

getting deeper

Good advice here, this has been one of my main issues. I can get over the bubble quite often, but then I feel like cards are gone and I wait and wait until my stack is too small to be credible. Just about everyone will call then and range of hands is too broad. I will try these ideas out next time.

Yes I had the same issue too ,(selective) aggression is the key factor for those MTT tournaments. If an opponent shoves and I am the last to call and his stack ratio to mine is a small one I have the odds to call almost we any two. In some cases we don't have fold equity. Good luck from now on!!

He always consents to the position and your stack. And consentrate because these tournaments usually have quick outcomes that can make you win a good ranking or lose everything. have fun
