Hey guys,
I'm playing a friend of mine headsup a lot on pokerstars, but I'm really having trouble beating him.
He's playing like a nit, his vp is 50%, he never 3bets pre, and post-flop he's really passive.
the few times he bet the flop he also bet the turn and river and he held at least two pair on the flop.
he also check-check-checks often with huge hands like a straight.
also he barely ever bluffs. bluffing hasn't really worked out for me either 'cause he calls a lot.
He also seems to always lose the minimum and made some big laydowns..
How should I play this guy? I usually lose/win with hands like straight vs a flush.
any tips?
thx!

Try to get in his head a little bit.. He's most likely just following your line to put you on hands so bluff with more unexpecting lines and take a tricky line with him when trying to get value since he's a little bit of a calling station

Well he's a nit that calls a lot. So I would probably start betting big, make him have to think. I think Isildur does it a lot - on the river he'll put up a big bet that makes it tough for an opponent to call and when they do, he gets max value. I would avoid putting in the small bluff bets and not give him any action when he does bet.

Also, preflop I would just limp and play a lot of hands. Like if you get AA, just limp and then try to get value post flop. If he's really passive, you can avoid losing a big pot if he hits 2pair or something since according to you he will just check it.

Try to really change your strategy and get in the over bets.

Thx for all the tips guys! Will continue with him tomorrow.
Tried hyper-aggresive play in my last game which also worked out, but I did actually have like 10 huge hands in a row,

you might also want to change your preflop bet sizing. Make he really have to think about what he wants to chase to the river. If he is calling a lot of 2x raises from you try to mix it up with some 4x and 5x. vary the amount you rasie but like another said make him decide with his chips on what he wants to run with.

he is not a nitty.ur friend is a clueless wet noodle.
so just keep pot control since he is passive and under 15bbs in HU SNG, ICM push or shove, pure maths, ur friend will make huge mistake on ICM call your push preflop.

Since your friend is clueless, you don't need to read, just play pure maths and let him to make huge mistake and pay u....LOL
