Trapping

I usually just call with pocket pairs, then check raise. Sometimes smooth calling is better if there's no draws as you will make more.

its a safety play but when you will play high buy ins you need to reraise with pocket pair otherwise you will losse in a long term ...

Trapping works against aggressive opponents.

Some times trapping really works fine when agressive players are at the table

Depends on pocket pairs,position and your opponents...

you kind of need to play against an aggresive player or someone who keeps raising because he is trying to bluf you out of your hand.

Trapping is good but if you aren't aggressive enough you can loose to a bad beat

If you're talking about big pocket pairs, that seems like a great way to get yourself trapped. If you're talking about small ones, I'm not sure how that's a successful strategy.

Unless, and you didn't say this, you hit a set on the flop.

Yes agreed matt

check call twice and check reise on the river is good on dry boards,reise is good on board with drews and if you put your opponent on big hand like top pair top kicker you can try to get it all in on the flop becouse a lot of scary cards could come for him to extract value from his top pair..
