I'm starting to get my feet wet in live tournaments; I've played two so far, $125-$130 buyins, not cashing in either one -- not accumulating enough chips and turning into a short-stack in Hour 3 with 20-minute levels, going all-in with AJo and going out both times with 20-30% of the field left (24/82, 36/161).

I'm curious about others' transitions from online to live play. What did you have to learn? How did live change your style of play (tightening or loosening range, dialing up or down aggression)? In short, what are the things you'd say to live-tourney-newbie you from your current place of experience?

Thanks!

Play faster. You're going to see less hands live than you do online, so the importance of taking shots with weak hands is increased. Even if you win a couple big hands early, don't trick yourself into believing you can slow down and wait for premium hands.

Go to the top or go down swinging.
