If you have experience in cash than tournaments shouldnt be hard for you. I myself am a cash game player and the beggining of a tournament is just how youre playing cash because you start off deep so you want to play depending on table dynamic.. if table is tight play looser if table is loose play tighter..

I agree with you. Being a rebuy, you can expect some looseness in the beginning and that's where your focus has to be to double-up early. But it will depend on how big the buy-in is.

Correction its a re entry tourny whichputs me in a little bit better state of mind going in to it tommorow is the tournament going to register than play cash while i wait to start i am only going to fire a single bullet at this tourny just getting my feet wet here i know i can make money playing cash and im consistent but i need a bankroll boost it would be nice for ne to take a bigger gain than i would on my ussual grind and i think in order to get to the next level i need to play in and win a couple of these things and see were i can take it move it up and give ne more of bankroll to play with if i can cash my br will be sufficient to move up on my cash game and change my views on how i approach br management which is a struggle with five kids at home every time my br gets up we have to dip in for whatever reason i am confident and nervous at the same time id hate to grind my ass off ro be the bubble boy not netting anything for my hourly as in a cash game i can cash out plAy several sessions and protect my earnings

As long as include plenty of punctuation in your game, you should be fine.

If you're a successful cash game player then just stick with that. How do you have time to play poker with 5 kids?

Bankroll management is key to achieving your goal.
I'm in a similar position as you, lawncare in summer, EI in winter and I would also like to live off online poker winnings and believe strict BRM can help achieve this goal.

Good luck to you and your goal. :)

Pretty much all poker tables get played the same way. Although some players are looser in cash games and tighter in tournaments.. In my opinion you should just jump in there and play your game with the cards your given the way you normally would. Good luck!:)

tournament play in the later stages is very hard my advice is to be very careful .and to throw a bad card and sometimes good .the main thing in a tournament is patience or the departure)))

just remember its about survival, there are times to be aggressive and times to be nitty. but ultimately spots you might go all in on in cash you might avoid in tournaments and spots you might never go all in in cash you have to go all in on tournaments. when you are less than 20bb you should think about playing a push or fold only strategy and the shorter your stack is below 20bb the wider you should push. example with 15bb you should shove about 60% of hands from the sb if no action infront of you, 30% from the btn if no action 20% from mp and 10% utg. (all of these are assuming its folded to you, if theres action in front of you, your shove ranges are much tighter. with 8bb you should shove 75% from the sb, 50% from the btn, 35% from mp and 20% from utg, again all these ranges are if theres no action infront of you. and these ranges are approximations, look up jennifears push/fold chart for a better idea of what ranges to shove when shortstacked

Play these hands:
suited: AK, AQ, KQ, (KJ)
pairs: AA, KK, QQ, JJ, (1010)
other: AKoff
play all other hands at your own risk (this includes smaller pocket pairs).
