It all depends on your skill, if you beat the limit for you will be profitable. For beginning players is best to start with the micro buyins...

It depends on your statistics. If you are a newbie I highly advice you to play with a low limit. Besides that use bankroll management and develop a solid strategy for SnG. Start with max 45 players. Don't overplay. Play in the beginning for max 3 hours. And play only when your in a good mood and focussed. Otherwise you can waste a lot of money.

Much will depend on the level of your game. For professional probably any tournament.

I prefer the one table format because I think my strategy is better than others to make money so I have a good enough edge. But it completely depends on what player it is and your style, if you do well in MTTS then its better off playing the 180 player sngs, if you don't think that your particularly good in taking tournaments down on the FT then dont play the single table sngs, unless you want experience. It just all comes down to what players prefer.

To learn poker I find that the $1.00 180+ man sng's are the best. It is a relatively cheap way to improve your play and style.

I enjoy playing the 1 table- hyper sng's, (there are many types of these dependant on which site you play), these help you develop your final table strategy. Also, a chance to play it different ways and see which you are the most comfortable and importantly the most profitable with.

Gl on which ever you try but, remember to use good Bankroll Management, otherwise you'll go skint before you have the chance to try what you've learn't.................:D:D:D

i think the 45mans are useful, not so much variance like 180s or mtts
and they still have the "mtt feel"
this format has also lot of fish and traffic

It depends on how much you have in your bankroll. If you only hav about $20 or around that then the best ones would be 25c 45 mans or 90 mans. If you have $80 or so then the $1 45 or 180 mans would be the best to play. If you can afford to play anything then there are alot of games out there which are great.

Personally when I'm in sng mode I quite like the $3.50 18/27 mans with a few $2.50 180 man turbos and maybe one $4.50 180 man.

this is kind of a trick question

which ever one you are better at is more profitable

Mtts usually offer the opportunity for a higher roi

what you should really focus on though is.....win per hr

win per hr is driven by playing the most tables of your best game

Got to agree with TeUnit - you should be tracking which situation(s) you do best in in rate/hr. And make sure you are tracking more than just game types - I found a large variance in times of day too that helped me optimize my time on-line in my "favorite" (i.e. best) games.

SnGs

All SnGs have got more difficult since most players are using the rule tight is right, however there are a few loose players out there but not enough to give me a RoI:)

I don't have 45 or 180 man sit n gos on the sites that I'm on, so I can't comment on them.

I find I do best in micro sng, not the double or nothing kind as I always seemed to bubble. I also find I do better with the ones with a slightly higher buyin, say 3 dollars or so, than the really small ones or the really big ones. People are good enough not to be playing bingo poker, but bad enough not to disguise their hands well. They also are folding too often to cbets on boards that completely miss the range.

DON or fifty fifty lowest stake.

But have to adjust strategy from a regular sng.

The thing is, low reward but low risk likewise.

I made a spreadsheet of all the different levels of the SnGo games that I play. I know which ones I am losing money on and which ones I am making money on. Of course it all comes down to skill, but if you play a wide variety, you should start keeping track of you performance so you have data and not a gut feeling about how to choose.
