This is in regards to a $215 WCOOP ticket I won in the CC freeroll

A little spoiled for choice here. There are so many events that I can use my $215 ticket for but I'm not sure which. I figure I'd best stick with Holdem and probably should avoid playing shorthanded just because I'd be less expierenced than most of these players. However there are still a few to chose from.

On one hand I love the idea of one of these 10k starting stack 20 min blind tournaments, they have gaurenteed prize pools in the millions as well. They would be a great expierence plus offer really big money for me. Though I'd likely be less expierenced than most of the players since I've never played big tournaments for more than a few dollars even though I think I'm a very good tournament player I'm really not sure what a three figure tournament plays like so I'm likely to be at a slight disadvantage (though I doubt I'm going to be hopelessly out classed) from what I can tell most of these ones start at 5:00am my time which isnt great but is'nt a huge deal.
Then there are two kncokout tournaments with quicker blind structres. one is a second chance knockout 5k starting chips 10 min blinds and starts 5:am tommorow my time. it pays over $100 for a knockout which means even if I get just 1 KO then I've made a big cash for myself with enough to start up a roll plus it would still be a great expierence and a big payday if I ran deep.

There is also another knockout event which starts 8:am monday next week which is an excellent time for me and its a turbo, 5 min blinds starting stack was either 3k or 5k and pays a bit over $40 per knockout which is still good money for me and of course this has a 500k gaurenteed prize pool which means still huge money to be won if I make a deep run. Plus with the turbo structure luck will play a slightly more important role which means slightly less chance of being disadvanted due to my lack of expierence at these buy ins

I'm really looking foward to whatever event I end up going with but dont know which I should choose, on one hand I love the thought of entering a proper championship type tournament with big money offered. This would be an excellent expierence but at the same time will be a long haul and have fields with lots of pros. whereas the KOs offer a slightly increased chance of making atleast some money while still offering big paydays if I play my a game but I dont like turbos as much a dont play them all that often, yet I'm still well aware of the adjustments for them and how to play them correctly.

What are peoples thoughts? objectivly speaking it may make sense from a money point of view to enter a KO event but I'm not sure which I should enter. I'm spoiled for choice which is a great problem to have

Hey loafes, if it were me in your situation I'd go for the bounty tourney. $40 per sounds nice and like you said if you run good there's still big money at the end.

I'm no tourney guru. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah at the moment I'm leaning more toward playing a bounty event, simply because it offered a higher chance of making some cash, though that doesn't mean I'll play for bounties, I'm still going to play like a normal tournament in that I want a top 3 spot.

Since I'm going to be up anyway I think I'll take a look at the 5k starting stack 10 min blinds >$100 bounty per KO tournament just because I like that blind structure and 3 figure knockouts are great. Closer to when it starts I'll think about playing that it weather to wait until the turbo KO

I like the small ticket tournaments that offer big prizes because I risk so much my bench, and I can get a better return.

Keep in mind it's been a long time since I've even had a chance to do any playing, and even when I did have time, I am a rec player. However, given the opportunity you have, I would personally stay away from the turbo bounty game. I just hate that structure, and if things don't go your way, you quickly run out of time to make up for lost chips, and are forced to make moves you wouldn't normally make.

I love the idea of the 10k starting stacks and 20 min. blinds! But as you say, that will be a verrrryyyy long haul, so you really have to take into account whether or not you can make the time commitment to that one.

It sounds to me like your best choice would be the $100 knockout. Ten minutes blinds aren't ideal, but the little bit larger 5k starting stack will help offset that a little. Plus, as you say, if you knock out some peeps, BOOM! you've got a hundred bucks. It is early for you, so if you decide to play in that one, I would suggest an early bedtime the night before! Give yourself enough wake-up time before hand so that your head is cleared of all the "sleep fog" before the game starts.

Whatever you decide, best of luck to you! I hope you win big. :D

this structure isnt going to be ideal for you, i would use the t$ to play the low/med stake majors like the big 11 and bigger 22, youl still be playing for tidy money but you'll get more chances, if you intent on playing id play event 48 the turbo ko.

I thought about this too, but I would maybe choose the 20 min blinds tournament, mainly because its cool to try the pros (have ever tested..). And exiting to play in a huge tournament like that :)

Did you decide or play yet loafes?

even though I thought the super KO with $100 KOs and 10 in blinds was probably the best one for me, I elected not to play in it because I wasn't feeling in my best condition when it started.

After a bit of thought I've decided I'll take a shot at one of the big ones with good structures. either the 1 million guaranteed which is event 43 or I'll play in event 64 which is 8 max and is a 1.5mil gtd I'm looking foward to it since these are deep stack and will be full of good players plus a huge field 2 day event. I'll post in the rail thread when it starts.

Thanks everyone for the input. hopefully I can run well and play well in which ever event I end up playing, maybe I'll make a deep run.

I'd suggest you consider what your goals are. For instance, if it's to make some money, then the KO may be your best bet. Otoh, if you put more emphasis on seeing and learning how people play at this level, you may want to lean toward a tournament where you have more chance to stick around a while, so probably one with deeper stacks, a relatively slow structure or both. As a generalization, the players who got in thru small buyin satellites will probably tend to bust earlier, so if you can last into the middle stages, they will comprise a smaller proportion of the remaining field than they did at the start, meaning you'll have a higher proportion of regs and good players to watch and learn from.
