Hello I am trying to build up my "quality" posts so I am able to play the 3.30 satellite to the 1 billion tourney but also this matter concerns me greatly these days so it's like win win .

I have always had problems playing tournaments that can change my situation drastically and to which I don't really have the bankroll to buy in (having entered by satellite or by some bankroll killer move) . I am going to play in such a tournament in a poker network that is not well known and the quality of players is not that great (from what I have played which is not really much) but this is still a million $ guaranteed event with over 500$ buy in . I am looking to boost my poker confidence by winning something meaningful in the meantime but this is as you know much harder than it sounds and having been so close to really good finishes last few weeks I don't think I am feeling better. I read a bit about Dr. Stephen Simpson and downloaded his book "Push at Open Doors" on audio file and will try to get to it these days but please if you have anything to add to the subject feel free. What state of mind do you adopt when playing tournaments that are out of your bankroll depth and which are much more important than anything you ordinarily play. I try to play such events as if they are nothing special and just another serious tournament to which you should give your best but it's not always the way it goes...

Practice makes perfect. Poker is no exception. You can't tell whether you're good or not with just 1 satellite. Put ton of volume (at least 100K hands cash game or 1k tourneys).

Ah mate I didn't say I have played one satellite only not played much on that network cause its new and works in bitcoins ....

How should I approach a tournament which I know is more important than anything I have played recently and is miles from my usual buy-ins. Which also might be filled with not that great players ...

Do you really think that there are 1 mil GTD tournies that don't have real players in it? I just don't believe this is the case. The truth is play each hand the best you can and that is all you can do.

agreed .. definitely it will be naive to think that in a Million $ gtd mtt there are no top pros. there will be bunch of top pros who will be trying to win this by playin loads of fishes.. so you better Play your own A game all the time .

You know poker is a great game to me precisely because professionals may turn out great professionals from amateurs, my advice is play your game, you're lucky competing in this event! Do not think in the first place and is still the tournament started! And good luck if you're in a situation that you first place becomes the target was still patiently and wiser course and courage!

It is good, serious tournaments are a poker, you can meet not more than few fishes there and they are a really good, it is a real poker when the winner is the strongest, blinds up slowly, it is ideal tournament and if you will win satellite good luck!
