Hello friends!

I participated in a tournament with friends this weekend and realized that I am improving with every tournament.
I have avoided the most to see the flop without good cards, but also realize that I have lost good opportunities to make good hands.
I think I have to rethink this strategy to see if I'm not being too selective.
Does the thought of not being so selective help you?
We will test whether this might not be a good strategy.

I know fold 74 under the gun flop is 744 ect this happens but rarely and the way to avoid losing money ie calling with trash and folding to reraise bad EV is only play hands that you are willing to raise outside the blinds but on the blinds play pot odds and call min raises ect as you are priced in good luck

Don't play results oriented poker, if you make a correct desicion then you did good. If you keep saying "look I would have won" you will start making loose calls preflop and bleeding yours stack. Your chips are your ammunition and you need to use them selectively.

Remember you can still loose with good hands too. Try to pick up on your friends reads and bet sizing and this will help with widening your range.

I can't argue with your explanation, but I think that we too often say "don't play results oriented poker". This is a bit confusing, since the whole point of playing is to get good results. We should employ all of the knowledge and skill that we have, not just to show that we know what we are doing, but to win each hand, i.e., to get results.

That might mean playing a weak hand because I don't plan on winning because of my cards, but rather winning because my opponent will fold to a particular strategy almost regardless of his cards a certain percentage of the time.

if a good hand, you need to take chances.

Hello. try to alternate your moves, do not be so preferable, because everyone at the table is watching as you play, and your chips may disappear quickly. Remember, poker is a game of patience, lose a little and win as much as possible
