Post flop play becomes a premium early in these deepstack tournaments. Better chance to build up chips when you outplay your opponents.

When deep stacks I try to play only premium hands, I'm waiting for loose players to come out. The chips are cheap and do not take chances.

You can try playing loose to create a LAG table image and then tighten up to try and trap players as the blinds raise. Be sure never to risk too much early though unless you have a premium hand.

With a deepstack you have two approaches you can take:

1. Loose-Aggressive approach: The benefit of being deepstacked is that you have the ability to maneuver around, playing speculative hands with good postflop equity if you can get in relatively cheap. Small ball moves (small bets and raises) will be commonplace here with this approach.

2. Tight-Aggressive approach: Basically you can play a standard TAG style if being loose-aggressive is not your forte. You can play tight until like the fourth or fifth level and make a few steals since players will put you as having a tight table image.

Agree. And i like to play small pairs at early stages alot cause if they hit you can take down huge pots.

I tend more toward a TAG style in early stages. Play tighter in early position and a bit looser in later position. Choose your spots. Play cautiously postflop and be ready to fold if you know you're beat or if continuing would put too much of your stack at risk.

Best tip is do not be in a huge rush to accumulate chips. Deep stack games with long blind levels give the best opportunity for the higher skilled poker players to shine and go far in the tournament. Lower stack turbos give a lot more chance to recreational players.

I think that it is necessary first of all to have a good rest and gain physical strength to participate in such tournaments!! You won't have time to leave the poker table for a long time! Yes to play a large number of starting hands at you in the beginning there is no need!

The hardest thing for me to figure out about deep stack play was that losing what I would consider to be a big hand in a regular tourney isn't as detrimental. I can still recover and stick to my game.

Hi, i really like deep stack tournaments and read a lot about it.
I think the first and most important is patience, if your luck can be long enough.
Do not run big bluffs, for me it means you have your plan in the following streets.
Steal their blinds, pressure them to fold their weak hands.
Defend your big blind, it's very important to keep up with others and avoid it short.
30-40bb Deep against 3 bets, call 4 bet, its better than all-in.
I hope it helps!

It is better to play a deep stack tournament in the aggressive way with premium hands, pay weak or speculative hands that way our stack will go fast and it will be too late to recover

Deep stack tournaments on party poker are pretty good you still need to play a solid game as everyone starts with deep stack and patient types tend to run better but just do not let go of your rabbit foot yet

I guess it depends on what style suits you best. With a deep stack you can play really tight and just wait for the hands you want. You have so much time.
