OK heres the situation. I normally play R5+.50 SNG's. Recently the site has introduced lower level (R2.50 + .50) SNG's and I have been CONSISTENTLY loosing on these. The problem is there are so few people playing the R5 tables anymore. My bankroll is suffering badly and I have no clue on what to do.

Do I play fewer hands and stick to the R5 tables or try and grind it through the horendous play on these R2.50 tables. My bankroll just doesn't allow me to play the next level table(R10).

I have been through my plays and have not found anything that in what Im doing that is costing me money rather its a case of bad calling by the opponent who gets lucky (dem I sound like the average whiner:mad:). The only thing I can possibly think of is to get maniacly aggressive to drive others off the pot.

HELP PLEASE

You are paying 20% rake @ $2.50 + .50

You are never likely to show any profit at these.Play something that has no more than a 10% rake if you want to show a profit. ;)

How many SNGs have you played at this stake?

Have you ever beat SNGs over any decent sample size?

Where did you learn your strategy from?

i was just going to say probably the best thing u can do is post lost fo hands in the HA section. Or even better find someone to swap HHs with and review each others play in a replayer (i guess this would depend on what site ur playing on)

Posting one hand where u get sucked out on is pretty pointless and shows that the games are beatable as u made the right play.

Post hands that are marginal this hand was very standard on your part. Marginal hands and a good amount of marginal hands will give us a better understanding of ur game. People always say playig lower limits is harder but this is just insane and not true.

I am would look over ur HHs but I dont play STTs and would imagine there is quite a lot of ICM to consider. maybe invest in SNGwiz and review ur game there.

Just remember ppl are getting better all the time. U cant just become a winner and then slack off on the improving/learning aspect of ur game. It atkes so much time away from the table to if u want to succeed.

Thanks Guys

The HH post is pretty pointless but it had just happened

I am still using a excel spreadsheet to keep track of my winnings / losses that I found on this site quite a while ago.

Quick tally up reveals that I have played (in the last 3 months when the lower levels started) 523 hands at the R2.5 level and only 109 on the R5 level. Interestingly I have won only 57 on the lower level and 34 on the R5 level.

Im not sure as to the total no of hands as my PT died when my Harddrive fell over and I havent reloaded it yet....I need to get the latest version of the database for win7. However from the previous install (only the R5 games tho) I had over 5k hands and was winning approx 1 in 4 with at least one place. At least its was winning rate I suppose.

As to learning the strategy......

Mostly from reading the posts here aswell as the HoH series and a couple of others. Might be a good idea to reread them though :D POINT TAKEN.

AS to posting HH Ill post a full game next session I play if any one is keen to rip me apart :D

Thanks again RAT

Do you really intend to say you have played 523 + 109 hands in 3 months?

If you have really only played 632 hands, your sample size is maybe 10 SNGs?

Hello fellow South African... I would recommend staying at the R5 tables, the R2.50 are like freeroll play, donk or be donked.

I find the higher the buyin the less donks, if your winning at R5 i would stick with them and try moving up instead of down.

If you are looking for active 5+.50 sng's, you might try full tilt poker. I play that level often and there is never any problem getting one started. Usually takes a couple of minutes for a single table game to get 9 players signed up.
