I have been trying a new to me strategy and wanted your thoughts. I am in the BB and the cutoff or button opening with a 2.5-4x raise, action folds to me and I call and go heads up to a flop. when the flop comes in a way that hits my range super hard in the BB like 5-7-3 rainbow but the flop misses my actual hand, i'll check to the PF raiser and they will almost always fire a cbet. I'll go ahead and fire a check raise of 3 to 4x his cbet and I have been getting 80% folds when I do this. when I do get a call, most of the time on a low blank river ill get a check back and then I can decide on the river if I hit something what to do at that point. I've been printing chips with this since bringing it into my game. What are your guys thoughts on this? The very few times I have been rejammed on I just fold and move on, but has been a overall +chipEV move for me the last month or so.

80 percent folds that's nice, but doing this at a table where the players are savy or the higher no limit rng tables, where the players are generaly more poker savy they will spot your play the moment they see yer whole cards-I say its a nice move if its working play on ,but I would suggest using it sparingly it might even be more effective that way, once the players figure out what yer doing, just check raise the nuts that will get them thinking,i like the story line check raising garbage getting a lot of folds, once the table reads that book write them a new one using a simmalar story line:eek:

Just don't do that with air!)

This is a very good move, but you can't do that with every hand, you need at least some EV. For example on a 753 board it is a good idea to check/raise with hands like 98, 97, 86, A2, A4, etc., so that you can barrel on different run outs. Check/raising with QJ on 753 board is a bad idea, because if you get called you 're hand is trash unless you catch Q or J.
