Is there a way to know at what place you will end the tournament?

If you know how high the blinds are, how high your stack is, how much players are sitiing on 1 table, how much players are left in total and how fast the blinds increase (normal/hyper/turbo).

Could you calculate at which spot you will end the tournament if you would fold every hand from now on? It would be usefull to know in some cases.

You can get an idea but it depends on how fast your table is playing. Why would this be useful to know?

There is bo way of actualy doing that because tou cant predict how your opponent will react. In this eccuation to fin a result you have to have all the information , in your case you are missing important information about the chip count of every opponent and where will it go. Lets say everybody goes al in and the ganes ends in that momentThis is a matter of feeling tour table and seeing how things go.Its a differnet situation in every tournament.Hope tou get what i said.

It isn't impossible I suppose but would be extremely difficult to even estimate tbh if you are just sitting out then I feel as if it will mess the calculations up bec ause people will steal your blinds ect....

For example, in some tournaments all you can win is a ticket, the nr1 wins the same ticket as nr50. It would be unnecessary to take the risk of losing when you know you will be one of the 50 winners if you would just sit out.

just a joke
nope, you may never know, since it's unpredictable
depends of so many factors, how good you are, how lucky you are on that day/night, etc...

For these tournaments you can use the following formula when late reg is over.

Starting stack x Number of entrants / Number of places paid

This will give you the average stack size you should have to finish in the money. Reach that and you can sit out. Pay attention to the chip leader, anyone way over this average figure will reduce the value required and it might be even easier to succeed.

For re-buy/add-on tournaments use the following formula, after the add-on break is over:

(((number of entrants + number of re-buys) x starting stack) + (number of add-ons x add-on stack)) / Number of places paid

Good luck!

Too many factors

No - Too many factors at play...remember even with a tiny stack you can still win

I also think that this is impossible, because the players are emitted in different ways.

im sure using math and an estimated guess of how many hands are played during the cycle of the blinds could give you a ruff estimate.

Theoretically, 70 people can play for hours without anyone getting busted, because the chips can circulate between the players. So no, you can never be mathematically sure you can just sit out the rest of the MTT.
