I decided to start playing a lot more poker this month and I started with sup turbos. After about 1000 games, I was down a lot (Unlucky to a degree, but played pretty bad and too many at once) So, after that I moved onto DoN's. Thought it would be a decent way to build my Br back up.

Started at the $1s and I'm mixing in some $2s now. So far, it's gone pretty well.
It's been ten days since I started and, In all, I'm at 284 games played.
(242 at $1, 42 at $2)

Here are my results for both levels.

Some questions---

Is my ROI good enough at these levels? If not, what's considered good?

More importantly, this is my main issue right now----

Can you consistently profit in these, if you overall lose chips?

For example, I'm down in chips for every Blind level after 50/100 (3rd level)
Take a look:

Now a lot of my losses came in my first 150 or so games and that's somewhat illustrated in the graph. In the last 150, I'm still not even break even in chips, but it's not as bad.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

Straight DoN's ?
Well, let's assume you start with 1500 chips and consistently finish in the money with , say 100 chips left.
Are you profitable ?
About the blind levels, if you gain enough in the early levels to fold yourself into the money it seems to me you're gonna give up a lot of blinds and so will lose chips in the higher levels because there's no need to risk chips anymore.
I'm not so familiar with these however, but I would play them very tight in the beginning, so I think my numbers would be different from yours.
As half of the players get paid the same, no matter stacksize, I would let the others bust eachother.
I guess a little steal in the higher levels, every now and then, should get the job done.
I might be wrong, but guess you could sometimes fold yourself in the money, without playing a single hand, or play just 1 or 2.

These are 10 man regular DoN's.

I actually do play the way you would. Tighter in the beginning, then loosen up and try to steal some in the higher levels. I end up just losing chips to the blinds though. I think I might be doing it right, stealing just enough to make it to the end, but I don't know.

I attached my stats so you can see:

Very much a BR builder

I am typically a MTT grinder but love to do the DONs for practice mainly to play the bubble in MTT tourneys. I think it is correct to play tight early in tourneys and then play good spots toward the 100 bb hoping to gain at least a stack of 20bb has been my goal to distort the field. People will really jam light around 100bb and levels following. So with 20bb stack will give you plenty of fold equity.

You exploit the bubble. They are great BR builders. There is less variance than HU SitnGos that give you the same payouts.
