I'll admit It, I suck at blind stealing. I mean I'm either over bet shoving A.I or just folding, lol. So plz help me with this aspect of the game, and/or send me a link to help me out and learn the proper way of doing It.

I'm especially looking at situations where I have like 30+bbs and the BB will have like 10-18 bigs. I have no clue as to what the proper move Is In these cases.

Be in a late position and if there is a straigt or a flush on board you bet like you scored a flush or staright that is how you can steal blinds

You really didn't answer the question though, what do we do pre from the SB? Do we limp? Do we raise? Do we shove? Do we fold? I'm looking at learning the preflop strategy Involved In BvB situations

Most of my tournament wins were a result of me stealing blinds and getting a little bit lucky that they were succesful. The perfect position for blind stealing would be the button or the SB, but you get less $ as SB but it works more often. I blind steal when everybody folded to me and I either am in the positions mentioned, and I just raise 3 BBs. 75% of the time people fold, especially if it's the bubble/late game. What I like about blind stealing is that u can do it with any 2 cards.

If its against an aggressive player in the blinds, then why are we stealing vs. a perfect re-shove stack?

The proper 'move' might just be to FOLD.... 'it depends'

Thanks for the replay, so 3x, ok so can we not raise less, or Is 3x to price them out.

Yeah I guess, you're correct, for me, I always seem to go with the 30bb A.I play, and than they'll wake up with Ax or 8s and I'm like WTF:eek:

Over 15bbs effective you shouldn't be shoving, make a pfr instead. Against someone who defends frequently tighten your opening range and against nits loosen it. Dont minraise bvb you just price ppl in to defend wide

Best way to get a feel for actual ranges would be something like sngwiz or icmizer, they both have 30 day trials. Failing that theres some free push / call tools out there like pushbot that you would prob find useful.

Don't worry about stealing blinds early in a tourney. They're not worth it.

Once the blinds start to get substantial (say BB is 400 or greater), antes kick in and the crowd starts to thin, that's when you start with the stealing game.

You can't steal by limping. If you are in late position and you've got decent cards and it folds to you, bump it up to 2.5-3xBB. Probably a good chance you'll get folds and can scoop the blinds and antes. IF the BB calls, there is a chance he/she is merely defending the blind and has a pretty wide range. They will be first to act after the flop, so if they check, a strong C-bet (half the pot or at least 3xBB) could take it down for you. If you make a strong C-bet and they call, then you need to put the brakes on and reassess.

:listen: Tape a 3x5 card over your cards and the flop. Hey maybe its a good hand and you're not really stealing.

I do it at different times as a sort of conditioning. Different positions as well. It all depends on what you can observe. Some will defend, some won't. Its better to find out early when the blinds are smaller. Sometimes it works better after the flop. Most flops miss most hands.

try to put 6 bet in early position, but if you have more than a normal hand.and so in late position 3 bet,but still it depends on the strength of your hand. the position of the stack, the barrel case)

I use it very often on tournaments when my stack goes to empty. Always trying to steal the blinds on BU or CO position, but if someone raise before me i can't steal it, no chanse, when players just limp, it's perfect opportunity. Sometimes i try to steal from UTG O_O, `cause some players have respect to this position, and they think you got some premium hands...

my general thoughts on stealing

Steal as often as possible, the more the blinds are worth stealing the more you should steal.

Don't be afraid of differing stack depths, i see too many people worrying about postflop when they can make a profitable steal attempt and simply check/fold postflop. As long as your preflop move is profitable go for it.

Have a look at player tendancies and work out ways which best exploit those tendanices. Vs some players, raising is best(nits, aggressive players), vs others limping and betting any flop is best(passive limping type players who)

Also don't be afraid to find out what players are like. usually if you have no history you should be quite willing to find out how they react vs a raise attempt, If they keep folding to you, keep raising, don't worry about what they might do if you keep raising until it happens. What i mean is don't fold just because, "i've raised the last few orbits and i want to make my image tighter" You could be moved tables next hand and never see this guy again, just keep raising and taking his chips.

Keep in mind once you start to steal more, you will in general see more action and it will feel like you are being played back at more, this seems obvious, but not every steal attempt will work, so be prepared to go postflop when needed. obviously the deeper you are the less stealing is important and the more postflop play is important, and the less chips you have in relation to the blinds the more preflop stealing is important and postflop is less important.

Hope this babble helps

This honestly did help, and I'm gonna have to Input Into my brain. I do the preflop raising with the Cbets naturally problem I encounter Is that "They pla back more often than not", either 3bet A.I or 3bet In general with Cbets postflop and even If I try to RR the Cbets on flop, It usually ends with them Jamming on me, and I've seen It more times than I normally like to. I know, they are making a play vs me, but I Just can't play Ax on a wetish board facing an A.I, you know?

I believe there is not a correct strategy, but what makes it easier to steal blinds is the game that the opponent has the image of you, you showed an aggressive and strong show downs the image is easier to steal the blinds =)

the situation you describe is not ideal...ie if the villan has 18bbs they have the perfect rejam size

so what you want to do is understand the villan, if you think the villan will rejam you can min raise and if they shove call them with stronger hands

Ok, assume the villain has a 30% resteal vs hero when It's HU, can we than profitably stack of with a hand such as QJo+ vs a player like this? As a situation like that came up recently not once but twice vs 2 different villains. The one I called with KJo, and he shows 96o, the other I called with AJo and he showed with KJo:) . Obviously AJ situation Is an easy call (Even though It was 1 spot away from FT and It was for half my stack). The other situation was ITM but 9 spots away from FT+It was even stacks for tourney life
