We talk a lot about taking notes on other players so we can study how they play. How about taking notes on ourselves. I am starting this tonight when I play in a tourney. I think it will help me to mix it up a bit and not become predictable.

Like just now I won a pot and I bet half pot at the river with the nuts. Next time it might help to make the same bet regardless of what I have to represent what everyone else will perceive as being the nuts.

Does anyone else take notes on themselves like this and if so what advice can you offer.

It's never something I've really thought about to be honest. I suppose at the mid to higher limits it could be a very good idea. If you're coming up against thinking regulars then taking notes on how you've played them before will help you mix it up.

I'm not sure it would be particularly worthwhile at the micros: 1. there are many more players at this level - the chances of coming up against the same players regularly enough is rare. 2. players at the micros don't tend to think. So any metagame benefits are unlikely to be reaped. You're better off just making profitable value bets.

Spillage I agree with you for the most part. I do usually come up against the same people at least one or two a game because I play plo8

I had not thought of this, but sounds like it may well be worth the effort, but no "name calling". Might make for some self disclosure and good hand analysis if done in the right spirit and focus. Thx for the idea, Wally
