I've recently switched formats from cash games to sit n goes, I liked cash games because it suited my lifestyle. I could sit and play when I had some free time and then leave at any time when I needed to. After grinding somewhere in the region of 100k hands my minuscule bankroll had not really changed, it had spiked up and down numerous times and my win rate was a poor 0.45 bb.
Several weeks ago I decided to try a different format, not tourneys as they still take to long, but full ring sit n goes, it's still early days but I've probably played in the region of 50 sit n goes. (I'll play 2-3 every day, more if I can) About 70-80% double or nothing and the remaining 20-30% would be regular sngs with a larger prize for the winner. While im still technically playing the same game the dynamic is totally different and also something i seem to be much better at! I seem to be winning or cashing in about 2/3 of games. Has anyone else made this transition after poor cash game results? Or found success in one format of poker after poor results in another? I would be interested,
As i said it's still probably to early to tell as inevitable variance may be playing a big roll here, I might report back in a week or two!

you need to play at least 100 games of 25 cents each, and calculate the result. The game was a plus or a minus. And if the result suits you, then it is quite possible to approach the sit and go game seriously:cool:

The way I see it depends on the day. if i'm way energized ill play a tournament mainly MTT dont really like sit and gos because the payout is not much. if I feel like chilling ill play cash games and wait for good opportunities. meaning I wont have to do much but be patient and wait for a good hand and an opponent to give me all his chips. it can be in 1 hour it can be in 10 hours. luck knows no time.

Congrats on transitioning so well from cash to SNG!

The nice benefit from your background will be post-flop play -- many SNG players aren't comfortable playing outside of a pre-flop comfort zone. Just make sure to really study the pre-flop spots and build up a sample before moving up too much. If you do that I think you'll be very successful.
