Hello there!
I won a $11 ticket for this tournament on pokerstars but I'm a beginner in poker and in this forum.
However, I know a little strategies, I know about odds, cEV, $EV, equity...
I want to know what is the players level, some tips to not fall in early stages, some strategies, everything you can support me gonna be good.
Thanks a lot! :D

Fraga I feel ya man, I won a seat into the Carbon ops 250k main event and I was stressing a little. But here is what you do, breathe and play your best. If you need some quick brush up's, YouTube Gripsed and watch the MTT series. It has helped my MTT game by leaps and bounds.

huh....are you sure it's for the sunday storm ?
Because that one has a 300K guarantee.
There's an $11 phase tournament with a 75K guarantee.
So what is it you got a ticket for ?

Thank you for tip, Icebear847! I'll watch it!

100588765, I've one $11 ticket for both tournaments, but I want to play 75k because I think it's more easier than 300k.

I think you should wait before playing.
I can tell you that online games are more difficult than live games, because players has tracking softwares, because you don't know who is the player on the other side and you can't feel the situation like in live games.

You need to learn before using your free ticket, watch videos and read books, improve your game and then start to play.

Good luck :)

You can easy unregistered and you will gets Tournament Money or T$ on cashier.. ofc, 11$ .. And you have better chances on more tournaments with that 11$ than on Sunday Storm or that 75k guaranteed, The Big $11 or what is that haha

Doyle Brunson is a dinosaur. unregister for that tourney or you're going to get crushed.
Lol, I'm just kidding. Good luck, there's nothing like jumping in at the deep end. Enjoy

Sunday Storm 300k has lots of recreational players in it.
Phase tournament with 75k GTD doesn't. Do not play Phase tournament unless you necessary want to play versus strong players.
Remember small 11 $ tourneys and Big / Bigger 11 $ is also an option :)

No, you are talking about a seat won in a satty.
If you win a satty, you'll automatically be registered in the target tournament.
If you decide to unregister or already have registered and win another seat, you'll get T$.

If you have a ticket for an $11 tournament, you'll have to play an $11 tournament.

Listen to this ^

You're way better off to play in the Sunday Storm vs. the other $11 mtt's. Don't be intimidated by a larger number of entrants as it makes no difference as far as ROI goes (& I actually think it will be easier for you to cash in the Storm vs. the others).

Don't read Doyles book. The info. will not be very helpful at all (& probably be detrimental imo). Take the advice of poster above, check out something like Gripsed video series online (Youtube?) for 'free'. Another option (better one imo) is to check out some of the live streaming on Twitch (although some of the most popular players on there are now in Vegas playing wsop, ie. Jamie Staples, Jason Somerville, Bigdogpckt5's). < I think any of those are much better than Gripsed (imo, Gripsed has a tendancy to overcomplicate some very simple stuff... takes 10mins. to say something that could be said in 20seconds).

What PO says, if you want to play the softest field i recomend to play the $11 sunday storm isntead of the $11 Phase 1. I've played both plenty of times and the sunday storm is much softer.

There's a great example out there on youtube on gripsed channel. A hand review from someone who shipped/final tabled the sunday storm. Very informative on how to play in this kind of tournaments.

Good luck!

Play as you play usually, but more tightly. Level of players greatly differ of tours with 1-5$ buy-ins.

The Storm is absurdly soft with tons of terrible players in it just waiting to punt their chips off. Just being on this forum means you'll probably be better than most of the players in it.

Also, I don't know if watching Staples or BigDog would be a good plan. They both do some fundamentally terrible things (not shoving nash, randomly taking hands in weird spots against players without explaining the reasoning.) Clearly they're doing something right since they both win (well Staples does, Big Dog has been breakeven for about three years), but my point is that it's better to get a fundamentally sound game and then work out your own style from there than trying to figure why Staples thinks limp/folding the sb w/ Q8s and 10bb is good or why BigDog thinks "value betting" second pair on a 4 to a straight 3 to a flush board is good.

I would simply unregister and use the 11 dollars TMoney on less competitive tournaments.

Too early to try these big ones. 11 dollars is better than a bad beat :D

I tried it, but it doesn't work, NKGB13.
I'm taking information on forums like this, studying game by reading books, trying to improve my game skills.
After I realize I'm ready, I gonna play it.

Be tight in early stage. Wait for a good card dnt bluff. Thats the best way. In midlle position try to build youre stack slowly and dnt go all in except if you hit a monster flop(but you can set a trap for your opponnent if you chek and he bets a lot). When you get into the money try to double, tripple up to get to the final table.
