Ive qualified for the sunday 1/4 million on stars the last two sundays running, last week on my account and tonight on my dads.

Both weeks I have been stacked up early, which isnt hard seen as tho half the field is in lemming mode for some reason. I play fast early, just because I dont wanna grind for hours for no pay, but no to the extent some of these guys do.

Anyway, I know there have been threads in the past specifically to do with this tourney, Im too tired to go searching now but will in the morning. My question is does anyone have any good solid advice for these things. I mean, 20odd thousand runners... you have to gamble right? Can you play solid poker and expect to get a good return?

I find I lose big chunks of my stack making mistakes... ie: Flopping underpair, its checked to me and I bet out, get check raised and have to pass (this happened twice tonight at critical times).

Ah well. Cashed both times, last week about $25 and this week $80. Would love a good cash in this thing, there is so much money in the pot. Has anyone got really deep in it and can maybe shed some light on proper mid-end game strategy?
Like I say I can recognize mistakes Ive made which cost me big chunks of my stack, but any advice on general strategy would be appreciated.

So you are doing better than many other players!
Keep on playing like that and try to get a better read on your opponents!
Look at the flop and the way they play.
If your table is tight play loose and vice versa....

Quick thought... Multiple ppl using a account from one or several ip addresses is against the rule and will get your account or your dads CLOSED. Like i said quick thought. Dont put it out there advertising ur using multiple users on one acct or multiple accts. This is the internet...Remember that..

Edit. Sorry meant to quote the OP.

ok let me re-phrase it. We played it together this week. He was sat next to me the whole time. Only reason is I/We played his Fpp's to qualify.

RA, ye m8 Im happy Ive cashed both times but with such a large prize pool $80 is little comfort when you bust. I think if I plug the holes in my post-flop game Ill get deeper.

PS. If any mods read this and agree with the above post do me a favor and delete the thread, better safe than sorry. Thnx

I love this tourney! But I have only made it into the 400's it was a cash but... I have found just solid ABC poker in the first few rounds, play your position and your strong holdings. Good luck! Maybe I'll run into you next Sunday. ;-)
