Near the bubble in the carbon poker
first depositor freeroll, but I was not in the money if I didn't move up in the chips rankings.
I have about 3,600 chips left (not including the blinds). 300/600 blinds, no antes. I was sb.
MP open shoves with about 780. Everyone folds to me.
I have 8c4c.
bb has 13,000 left but has been very conservative, rarely playing a hand, just sitting on his chips.
So I was looking putting in about 480 more chips to win the 1680 already in the pot.
I am pretty confident if I shoved, he'd fold. So I shoved it. He instafolded.
MP had AKos so he had me 2:1. But I outflopped him with a 4 to win. Then these 2 guys started ripping me for being stupid. I thought about talking about pot odds
but decided against it and just said "ok I got lucky."
What do you think? I thought that was a pretty good calculated risk.
Yes if bb called i would have been in trouble, but I was 90% confident he'd fold.
Edit I made it into the money!
I am pretty proud of my play tonight. I was down to 700 and change early on after the guy hits a 4 out gutshot straight to beat my 2 pairs. But I rallied back to make it into the final 20.
One of the guys ripping me got busted on #21, 10 vs. KJ and he started railing on the guy who called his 2.2 bb shove LOL. Made it all the more sweet.
