read somewhere, i think it was the phil galfond hand review in this section of the forum where he says, talking about poker with enthusiastic individuals and sharing ideas/thoughts is a good way to learn the game and has been very beneficial to his own game....

ive been thinking for a long time that it would be good to have a study buddy on skype who is interested in talking pokers and learning so im gonna try it...

I play mainly stt sng's $1.50-$3.50 on stars and 0.50c-$1 HU on ftp.....have played 2nl-5nl cash in the past and done ok, especially with 2nl, not too many hands at 5nl to judge whether i can beat it or not....although i think i could....you would have to be abit thick not to :D

i like to play different variants of poker and mix it up at the wknds with 8game and horse at a home game on stars....omaha hi/lo being my current fav game atm outside NLHE....

yeah so if anyone is interested in talking poker and working on our games via skype then let me know in this thread before you send a request....let me know what games you play and why you think this would be a good idea...

dont make me go over to 2+2 to find somebody lol, surely someone on cc takes the game seriously enough and loves talking about it enough to want a studdaaay buddaay....come on :)

also no time wasters, actually want to learn the game and take the skype thing serious...so if your just gonna add me and say 'hi' 'what ya playing' ' my aces got cracked lol' 'can you believe this' etc etc, then you're not the guy/gal for me.... ;)

Lonely in here or what lol, don't ever recall seeing this post and for some reason it came up when i did a search for omaha lmfao.

Find a study buddy yet, I'm thinking about switching to omaha whats your thoughts on that........been playing more of it the past week than I have holdem and doing a lot better with it than holdem which given i'm losing everything holdem lately it doesn't take much to be doing better and its swingy but ups and downs i'm a little up and more or less finding i can focus on it a bit more (none of the allin pre as much prb makes a big diff, you know Ahks vs KhQh that flops a fn flush and no 4th heart for me bs lol).

So, hi, whats ya playing....had an AK cracked by KQ the other other day fn bs right lol

I'm interested bluff. My Skype is Jay Tee. I'm not sure how it will work out because we play a lot of the same tourneys and I am no poker professor but sometimes just another set of eyes on a hand history is all it takes to make an adjustment.

Lol nope still all alone, gave up, nobody out there who has the same enthusiasm as me to talk tactics :D

Eh very swingy is omahahaha, fookin hell if you get tilted bad with holdem then this is gonna be worse lol. Nah but seriously if you have a good feeling about it then give it a go, but remember that good hands in holdem are meh hands in omaha...chuck away your 2pair/straights(on 3 suit board) <if it makes sense and baby sets on medium/high boards....really need nutted hands in this game.

Post some hands when you get going, would like to review some omaha hands :)

Yeah there will be a convertor about somewhere ;) don't know how you can do it dave, when I lost the fizz with poker a few weeks ago It didn't matter what game it was, I couldn't get up for it. Infact the horse-8game was the first ones I stopped regging for before holdem lol.

That's right you did, although to be fair I was getting ready for a break at the time after a long time at it...obviously still had some gas left when I did this post. I'll get in contact with you soon if that's ok, I'll be starting to play again tomorrow properly starting with some cc games + sattys.

my signature says it all alf, i'm an addict lol.....just think i been taking a lot of hits in holdem lately and in need of a small change.

nice colin, yeah i was reading stuff on cc today re holdem....an awesome beginners guide from marginal
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/learning-poker-57/beginning-plo-some-very-basic-ideas-190541/

Great info there and also a link to a plo cash thread that was running for a while, which i went through and gain some great info as well from the hand analysis. Kinda just getting started with picking around at some cash games.....curently on FT of an mtt on stars lol.

Always enjoyed plo cause of the action but usually got creamed when i played cause of a major leak....wanting to see too many flops but like i said some great info in the thread I went through today that gave some insights and just background re the wraps which i knew were great hands but always nice to refresh.

I don't have the hud for it though, and picking through a text file for hh might not be so much fun lol, but if i actually look to do a primary grind on omaha which is how i'm feeling right now then I may look at upgrading my pt4.

i take it you play ur plo mainly on stars? do you zoom or reg tables?

Edit: Also I know marginal is around a bit these days, just started a thread that he is trying to get back grinding so I'm sure if there were enough of us looking to to maybe start up a plo thread that he would likely have some great input. I just seriously don't know if without pt4 to track my hands that I would really want to bother druging through text files for them, but again it would be worth the purchase if I was looking to actually play any amount of it.

Do you play just PLO Colin, or any PLO8 in there as well?

I want to be in the skype club for a few reasons:

1) I cannot talk enough poker. EVER.

2) I need different points of view, I get stuck in my head on my own ideas and strategies

3) is says you are from the UK and I bet you have a cute accent!

4) Oh yea, I'm totally addicted to Big-O (5 card Omaha hi-low split) and i need HELP....but I've actually done pretty well for myself despite being a new-b at Big-O

Can relate to number 1 and 2 :)

Don't know about number 3 though as its usually done my instant message rather than voice call. At the moment my netbook isn't strong enough for heavy stuff like voice. Tried it a few times before and it sounds like they are talking under water lol....so until I get a better computer set up I will just need to keep it simple.

I also like to play omaha and other mixed games so I can chat about that stuff too... So if you want to talk pokers then add me on skype. I've got a few other interested people who are keen to go over stuff, so can maybe merge us into a group. Got a pm this morning from someone enquiring about it.
