Hi,

I am struggeling with re-buy tournaments. I only play them with starcoins on pokerstars(It seems like the only tournaments suited for my starcoin balance).

Does anyone have a sucesesfull strategy they care to share(or should I just leave the starcoins and let the balance grow?).

Best regards

better to play in tournaments where the prize twice or three times your buy-in . then it will be as easy to win something.

True. Large tourneys require a large bankroll because your chances of winning are small. Build up your bankroll slowly.

avoid rebuy tourneys as they can be a strain on your bankroll. better to build a strong bankroll and then try rebuy tourneys.

re-buy tournaments should play when you have some money in your account(ex.account balance 100$ ,tournament buy-in 1$),and is better if you put in your mind from start that there is no tournament good enough to reb-buy more then 3 times(and the add-on ofcourse)..in my opinion.Be SmaRt and Patient!:)

Rebuys with starcoins is slightly different from real money rebuys.

People are so loose because they see starcoins as just accessories.

Try tourneys with limited rebuys just like the 1rebuy and 1 add-on tourney.

I agree with "hffjd2000's", people are so loose and I can not stand to play rebuys. As he says, I'm looking to be only 1 rebuy and 1 add-on.
If you have a lot of stars coins maybe you can look in the VIP store and buy a ticket for a tournament, as for example for 25 stars coins you get the $0.25 Spin'n'Go ticket.
Would it be easier 1 stars coin has a value of $ to 0.01.

Im still new here Thehumanzoo, but if im playing a rebuy tourney i want to at least make it past the rebuy period. This sometimes means me using 4 or 5 rebuys, but i try my best to get by without using them at all if i can. How i look at it, is if i have a good hand and it doesnt work out i get another shot at the tourney still. Of course after the rebuy period is over, its game on.

it depends on your BR(bankroll),If you have small BR you should avoid that types of tourneys

never more than 3 first rebuy use at begining and last 2 if you loose starting chips. Any more rebuys is just a waste of mony. Add use 90% of a time unless i m in first 9 place with my chips stack

I don't think there is a correct amount of times to rebuy. I think it's more dependent on your table. Bofore playing a rebuy MTT, you should know that there will be players shoving with a wide range trying to accumulate lots of chips. When I use to play at FTP before Black Friday, there were some regulars that would be constantly double reubying throughout the entire rebuy period. Trying to build a huge stack, knowing with that they had an edge on the field making it worth doing. I like rebuy right away to increase my stack, to maximize my return in spots when I double up. And always take the addon.

Yes all of these posts are really good info my man, mainly it depends on the buy in amount vs your bankroll. Then you gotta watch out for the chip builders as well, so there are gonna be more than a few suckouts regularly. As people will call and shove with a much larger range of hands, as mentioned above.
I commonly see 3 or 4 all ins at a time in the later stages before the rebuy period ends and the blinds are getting up there.

After playing quite a few of these I think the main thing is it's basically assumed you're going to have to fire multiple bullets. You need to gamble early on and continuously build up your stack to have any chance. Theres no real folding into the money in rebuys because it goes on for so long. Early on before I figured this out I'd just play super tight and double up 2 or 3 times only to end up on the bubble with 8bbs. Pretty sure thats a -ev strategy.

be patients as **** I got to the add on period by just being patient and calling shoves/shoving premium hands its an all in donkament practically at the micro stakes so those should be fairly easy to atleast get to the add on period from there its regular tourney play

Play tight, observe the players and you must always know when its time to play aggressively.

Buy in once and try to get over the rebuy period, thats if u have small bankroll, if u can spare more buyins then go for it, addon and start playing aggressive :D play like a donk :D but i would always try to take the first way, its cheaper :D
