I deposited for the first time at FTP in January and got a ticket to this tourney. It looks like there will be ~25k runners.

First place pays $9,500

Pays 5400 players ($4 for 5400th)

So how would you suggest I play this? Like a normal tournament or try to coin flip early to double up?

Thanks

Play really tight, and really agressive in the beginning.
After a couple of hrs, when blinds go up, you should change gears, and punnish all the limpers by pushing all-in.
After that continue playing loose aggressive with a lot of all-ins, until your stack becomes big.
Once your stack is big you can continue running over them, but with caution.

gl there probably going to have those Quick blind levels, so in that case takes lots of luck to determine the winner of this game:) ...My Opinion Is to play this game like A Free Roll cuz I mean Money with is a long shot (and hope you do win it), but you must realize ppl are playing to get a way from the Increasing blind levels, so there-fore there , there going to take more chances, gl

I played one of these last August or September and it was awful. You think a standard free roll is bad or a $1.00 MTT with 5k runners but these take the biscuit. You're pritty much forced to go all in if you're playing a hand regardless of what point in the tournament it is.

For example I picked up Kings 7th hand into the tournament or something and raised then got pushed as all the other previous 6 hands before was all ins. It was a multiway all-in pot with 4 people and I busted.

Just try playing tight and any top pair just gotta go all-in theres little room for any poker in these tournaments!

Goodluck!

i just played this in december for my gf and ended up cashing in 1000th place of 17k players. my advice: play it as you would any other tournament. tight at first. aggressive in late position midgame. and bully the shit outta people late in the tourny.

There is so many players..
You should be tight aggressive, dont bluff much, and when you manage it to the bubble, play super aggressive and collect nice stack!
Goodluck! When i did first deposit, and got into 100k $, i made it to 50bucks.
:p

I won 7.40 in one of these...tag early then start opening up your range and steal when possible....I dont think I showed down 10 hands in 3 hours
