Sure, look at Kathy Liebert; She cashes in (what seems like) every one she enters. However, she seldom takes the whole thing down. I think Doyle Brunson talked about this in his book suggesting, more or less, that the "survival mode" of MTT play requires eventually overtakes the desire to actually win it outright. He did say he does the survival thing up until the final table, where he then plays it like a cash game. Actually, this makes a lot of sense, as at the final table that desire to survive into bigger pays or make it to heads up can cause some to fold when they really shouldn't, and if you know that...imagine how you could take advantage!
