STILL no need for bluffing even in $15/7 hyper HUSNGs???
Having began poker 9 months ago, pretty much whole time spent at 5,10 and 25nl 6max, where tight is right, minimal bluffing is required, I've began to play hyper HUSNGs.
I made the switch due to a frustration in the ABC play and just general style of play (tight and wait for good hands, value bet, don't bluff etc) it was getting boring and I needed a change.
I'd say I'm overly aggressive in ring games.
So why not try heads up. Particularly hypers, where if you're not aggressive enough and play looser, you will inevitably lose due to the stack sizes and blind levels.
But the thing is, even at 7s and 15s (these are beginning to move out of micro levels now, not exactly playing for pennies), the optimal play is still to not bluff... Or certainly seems that way! Villains just can't fold anything. They will call 3bets with trash, so there's literally no point 3bet bluffing or doing it semi wide cos you'll have no idea where you're at when the flop cones.
Whenever I don't bluff or make any moves, I'll get good results, better than when I do play a bit loose and bluffy. So there seems no point in me doing it. I could be really bad at bluffing but for the minute amount of respect my bluffs get I think there's something else going on... Micro's is just full of stations...
What I'm asking is, is it fine to just play ABC even at 7s? I'm bluffing here and there, cbetting, few little stabs at pots. but floating with air and firing multiple barrels just gets me absolutely no where, it's also incredibly tilting to get heroed by middle or bottom pair. Just seems not worth it at all.
I find myself saying to myself when I'm on,a losing session (playing tight),I should be bluffing more, I should be taking pots away from my opponent, I'm not doing enough tricky stuff to win, that's why I'm losing. But in reality it's best to just value bet and wait for hands, just like freaking 6max micro's...
What's your playstyle at hyper HUSNGs??
