Im quite new to poker and i've been playing some free rolls with like 1000 dollar prize pools, and like 3000-4000 register and i start off well accumulating around 20,000-30,000 chips which places me around 20-40th in the first hour of the MTT, and as time progresses and more people drop out i lose chips slowly if anyone does a big bet i always have little confidence in my hands, how can i counter act this and play better at the end stages of these big free rolls.

PS you start the tournament with 3000 chips and blind levels increasing every 10 minutes.

observe whats going on. sounds like you sit back and wait for good hand. Some days u run well some days u dont. You need to be able to bet and take down pots when you have weaker hands. When you first start out playing poker you prob read a lot of abc stuff so they mainly tell you to play premium hands. Start playing a wider range of hands. read up on 3 betting and when to and when not to. Start to get comfortable playing post flop. there is a lot i can say so if you have some more exact questions answering may be easier more informational.

It's pretty difficult to answer your question because it's too broad.
My suggestion would be >
Read Harrington On Holdem Vol.1 -NLHE Tournament play

&

Harrington On Holdem Vol.2 - End Game Strategy

These two books will give you a decent foundation.

You need to learn how to properly adjust your game as the MTT goes on. Find the right spots to steal/shove, don't fall into the trap of playing to passive.

MTT in its later stages is all about position and an agro style if you have the stack to do it. So many players nearing a bubble will become extremely passive and this is the moment to start stealing chips. You have the ability to be that exact player that is annoying you. The first raiser is always asking the questions. If your is posiition, you always have information about his hand, before you act. Use these things to your advantage

It sounds like in the early game you're simply taking advantage of terrible players and winning with decent hands. Solid, tight play always serves you well in these situations. As the blinds go up, however, every steal becomes more and more critical to maintaining and building your stack. Since you should have the advantage of being a big stack at the table, don't be afraid to throw around your chips. That said, make sure you figure out how other people at the table play. Take advantage of those who will let you, and wait to kill the super loose players with big hands.
