I play in a fairly soft home game where we play very short-stacked (average stacks are between 25BB-10BB) in a 6 handed sit&go. The players that play in these games are very passive preflop and often times pots are limped. What I was wondering was if it was a smart idea to begin open limping in some spots. For example, we will be playing 6 handed and I will be UTG with a hand like T7 suited. Now usually this is a fold but instead I decide to open limp. My reasoning is because players will play very passive preflop and I am likely to see a cheap flop with lots of equity. The times I get raised it is likely they have a strong holding and I can make an easy lay down. On the other hand I see a cheap flop and have a chance to hit a monster. They also play very predictably post flop where they will bet with there strong hands and check with there weak hands. This means if I get a good draw I can decide to call getting a decent price and stack them when I hit a straight/flush/two pair, and fold when I brick the flop. I can also make some bluffs on later streets as they are likely to have a weak hand when they check. What do you think about this strategy?
