Hi guys

I mainly multi table the turbo $0.50 9 handed SnG's on pokerstars, to try and build a decent BR. After slaving away for 4 hours I made a total profit of $0.31, which got me thinking, are the hyper turbos or regular SnG's more profitable, and what stakes have the weakest players, or does it really matter?

I assume $0.50 is where you'd find the weaker players but I've read tons of articles saying $1.50 and $3.50 are easier than the $0.50.

Your thoughts?

My opinion is to play regular SnG's so you can still do your game! For building your bankroll open more tables!as many you can handle!

^ To get more volume in less time, great advice!

Welcome to the grind, and congrats on profiting :D

This comes down to variance, in hyper turbos play is much different as everyone is 'short-stacked' so variance will be alot higher here. Whoever gets lucky first will determine who profits rather than skill compared to regular SnG or deep-stack tourneys

I assume $0.50 is where you'd find the weaker players but I've read tons of articles saying $1.50 and $3.50 are easier than the $0.50.

At .50 you have alot of punters (people who are willing to gamble) because they do not value their chips that much (same applies to freerolls). As you start moving up in stakes, the players become more serious and the game becomes more 'proper'. To answer shortly: no stake is more profitable than the other (in BI/hr measurement) but different stakes will require different play styles. Hope it helps, cheers

Hi, I play only turbo.
I have found that playing 1$ 90 seats SNG's are most profitable at my level. I would compare this to playing few 9 handed turbo at one time. whereas 0.50$ turbo 9 handed takes 30-40 minutes, 90 handed 1$ turbo takes 70-80 minutes and table dynamics and my startegy are the same as in 9 players sit n go. In 9 handed sit n go 1st place gets 4 buy ins whereas in 90 handed sit n go 1st place gets 22 buy ins and as I said before the play is very simmilar. 7/10 times I end up in the money.
45 players turbo sit n go is also a good alternative.

But of course there is lots of variance due to many stages of the turbo tournaments where players are short stackes. If you figure that your are good at reading preflop shoving range for different opponents and finding good spots for shoves and sometims squeezes you would win at turbos in the long run.

I am building my bankroll at the moment once I'll build one that satisfy me I will play slower tournaments to practice and rely more on my postflop game.

All are profitable , what differentiates them is the variance , I like to sit and go turbo, because before long, nor has such a large variance as the hypers
