I just finished looking through my stats of my recent SNG's. I know it doesnt really mean much as it is not even 100 tournaments but it is still interesting. at the 2.25 games I have played 50 and cashed in 25 for a ROI of 28%. If I go up one level to the 5.5 games I have played a mere 32 and cashed in 9 for a ROI of -18%. I am assuming that I am playing well and this is just due to variance. in the last 19 $5 games i have only cashed in 4 with 2 thirds and 6 4ths.

your losing money. 28% is not the greatest nunber, but it still better then 0

to be at 50% your still losing money due to the rake.......so really take a step back and take alook at your game to see what is going on.
if it playing to much or playing at the wrong stakes. Alot of things can have affect on your ROI. check your stats , your game to see what you can do better, find out what days, hours you run go at and then you can see your results improve, so Ex mine is what i run good on tue, wed, fri bewteen the hours of 1600-1730 ( 4:00pm to 5:30pm) so I play on those days and win alot.

when you look at my ROI it at 440.27% don't ask how it happen, but it just does, even those my win are not that much. every little bit helps, I hope this helps somewhat.

I know my stats are not that good, but it should give a good ideal in what you want to look for

You get such a high ROI since you have included freerolls, take them out and you'll get a better picture of what your ROI is when you actually spend $$ to play a game.

how am I losing money with an ROI of 28%? The numbers I used to figure it out included the rake so that is not really affecting my numbers. To place in more than 50% of tournaments over a large sample would be incredible. It really isnt the case at the micro stakes but a good ROI to shoot for is 10%. probably more like 15 - 20 at the micros. 28% ROI means that for every dollar I put in I am getting 28c back. to have a ROI of 400 you would have to take first in 90% of the tournaments you play

440% ROI is definitely sustainable in the long run... /sarcasm

No, but honestly, seems like you are doing well. THe sad fact is 100 games isn't even enough to draw any conclusions about anything really. I'd play at least 1000 games at any level before i thought about moving up.

yeah 440% of like 90 cents...

Playing at such low stakes, playing so little, of course you can post impressive percentage results.

Money talks, and that ain't much...

to the OP my first assumption when looking at how well I do vs. the buy-in, my first conclusion would be the better pool of players.

I've heard that the 5 dollar area holds a decent player pool while 2 dollar area is donk heaven.

Of course tho you will find donks in the higher levels because they have no concept of BRM.

Hell, I play lowish level poker, I feel like i'm maybe one step above a donk But if you check my rating on sharkscope or officialpokerrankings I'm ranked in the top 94% of the players.

Do I feel like i'm better than that many players? No, not at all. I also catch myself making tons of mistakes... (One sign of a good player, however, is the ability to recognize what they did wrong.)

So I wouldn't put all that much into the software or the percentages.

Look at your bankroll, is it bigger or not? That's all that matters.

Yes, good result so far.

Keep playing keep lurning, and when you reach 1000 games you have enough to draw some kind of conclution.
Bear in mind that you will have loosing streaks, simply due to bad luck, its part of the game. So remember to play within your bankroll.

Surely if you are in the top 94% of players then that means that only 6% are worse than you? Did you mean you're in the top 6%?
