Playing a table in a tournament were 6 out of 9 players aresitting out is very frustrating to play in.
Do you follow their lead or just play against 3 players?
Any advice!!!

I don't see any reason to sit out in a tournament. That makes no sense. What are you afraid of? Perhaps only if you were in a satellite and had a ton of chips. If nothing else just tighten up and wait for premium hands.

The only bad move under that situation is to limp.

This seems to happy way to often, but when players limp they steal equity from all the active players including themselves. Shove, fold, min raise, just dont limp. The worst of all is the guys that insist on having a limp off against a sitter and end up losing hands to players sitting out- then they will always raise the active players.

Why would you be frustrated? This is a great situation. The players sitting out continue to post their blinds and you only have to play against 2 opponents. The other two players will likely be opening too tight, not calling wide enough, and generally not understand 3 handed play. The more players that sit out the better.

Why is that frustrating to you? I would always want to play at a table where 6 players are sitting out.

You definitely need to play in those situations . Steal all the blinds you can and play the others a little tight.

to each game and the number of players at the table need your own tactics to practice on the conventional chips to understand what tactics suits you best

Generally i see it as an opportunity. Depending on the site I am on the experience varies but I have often double and tripled up because someone tried to bully me with a subpar hand

i have to agree

i have to agree i hate that when they just sit out and don't play a hand and ended up winning some type of money. to me i think they should only allowed to sit out so many hands then they should be removed from the tourney.

Don't worry if 6 players are sitting out, just play your hands and take their chips.

I Acctually love when this happends because you get alot of Free blinds if your opponent fold then just raise and the blinds are automatically yours :)
